Chp. 5 - Aurora's No No Word

Third Person POV:
       It's been a few days since the gladers found out about beetle blades. Aurora's hands are still healing but that doesn't stop her from running around the glade everyday. She makes sure to stay away from Trevor at all times no matter what, cause to be honest she is a bit scared that he will try to kill her.

Aurora's POV:
       I was working on the flower crowns for the boys early in the morning just as the sun was coming up when I heard a low rumbling sound. I look around confused, when I see THE WALL OPENING UP?! what the. I quickly go inside and get the boys making sure to leave Trevor to show them. "What is it Aurora?" Win says (Aurora's nickname for Winston because she can't say his name correctly). We were still in the homestead when I started rambling which is something I do when I'm scared "Well I was making flower cro- OH wait you weren't suppose to know that well I was outside you know because I woke up early, not that I can't sleep but I just woke up early..." I trail off as they give me a look to tell me I was rambling so I take a deep breath and say in quickly "thewallsopenedup" all the boys look confused. "Ok Aurora slow down what happened." Gally says. "The walls opened up" I say. The boys just stand there confused so I grabbed Min Min's hand and dragged him outside with everyone following behind. When they see it they stand there shocked. "GUYS WHATS GOING ON- HOLY SHIT WHY IS THE WALL OPEN" Trevor yells as he walks out. The boys look at him angrily with me confused. I look at George "What does shit mean?" I ask.

George's POV:
    "What does shit mean?" Aurora asks me. I look at the guys just asking for help when Gally comes up kneels infront of her and says "It is a no no word which you are to young to say." "Why can't I say shit...wait will I get sick or something if I say shit oh no I said it again. GALLY IM GOING TO DIE HELP ME!" She shakes him while saying the last sentence. "Your not going to die-" Newt starts but gets cut off by Aurora "Wait so you guys will die if I say shit AHHHHH I said it again I am going to kill you all by saying shit WAIT I SAID IT AGAIN I DONT WANT TO KILL YOU" she says with tears in her eyes. "Hey hey calm down nothing will happen it's just a bad word that you can say when you are 15 but right now you are 4 ok." I say. She calms down a bit before throwing her arms around Gally and mumbles into his shoulder "I don't want to say a no no word that could kill you so I won't say it" Gally chuckles a bit and pats her back before picking her up and looking at the opening again with the rest of us. "No one goes in until further inspection" Alby says before walking away. Gally puts Aurora down and she goes off running to make the flower crowns yes she told me but then promised that I wouldn't remember and so I pretended I forgot just to make her feel better.

     Right now me and the boys are eating lunch when suddenly one by one everyone gets a flower crown on the head even Trevor but the flowers are dead. "Ta-da!" Aurora anounces. She has a flower crown on her head as well. "This is a shitty crown and stupid you wasted your time." Trevor says to which Aurora gasps and says "You said a no no word. GALLY DID YOU HEAR HIM HE SAID A NO NO WORD." and yet again during the last sentence she shaked Gally. We all ignored Trevors comment and chuckle at Aurora's.

    The sun is about to go down and I am with Aurora at this little pond teaching her how to read and write seeing as she is very young. I simply draw a word in the dirt and she has to sound it out and after learning how to say it she grabs the stick and rewrites it. I was teaching her how to spell her name when we heard a rumbling sound and Aurora gets scared so I pick her up and go towards the sound to see everyone gathered around and we go over there to see the doors closing. Once they shut Aurora is shaking a bit and so I hand her to Newt who is normally the best at calming her down.

Newts POV:
       It was late when we hear a rumbling so I stop trying to pull out a weed and go to inspect with Zart. When we get there the doors are closing and after a minute George comes with a scared Aurora. The doors slam with a huge boom which causes Aurora to shake a bit. George hands me Aurora and I start to rock her a little while whispering that everything was ok in her ear and eventually she fell asleep.

       We all walk back to the homestead and I carefully put Aurora in her hammock before going upstairs to my room. As I get ready for bed I hear a screaching coming from outside the walls which startles me. I look out the window to the walls as the screaching continues. I then hear a little knock coming from my door and it slowly opening to reveal a scared Aurora who has tears going down her face. I kneel down and hold out my hands and she quickly runs up and hugs me. "Whats wrong love?" I ask her. "The noises" she replies in a tiny voice. "Wanna stay with me tonight?" I ask and she just nods her head. I pick her up and sit down on my bed and she quickly falls asleep. I play with her hair for a bit before looking out the window. I can't sleep so I softly hum a little song to Aurora while playing with her hair and looking down at her. And eventually I fall into a dreamless sleep.
