Once ted got out of school he met up at the tree. Sarah was already there and soon after ted got there tyler and conner did too. They walked together untill one if them had to turn down a street to go home. As usual ted was the last one walking. He walked for a few more minutes and was able to see the front of his house. He walked inside. The house was small but was enough for ted and his dad to live happily. Ted walked through his house and looked around. Everything was just how he left it. Sense Ted's mother died when he was young he was the one doing most of the cleaning. He couldn't stand clutter like his old man. His dad always said that's how his mother was. Ted walked into the living room. His dad was asleep on the couch with the tv playing some mid day show he never watched or was interested in watching. Ted walked over to his sleeping father and tapped him a couple times on the forehead.
"Hey dad. Wake up. I'm home." Ted said shaking him a little.
"Hey buddy wassup. What time is it?" Teds dad said sitting up slowly.
"It's about three. Are we still fishing today?" Ted asked. His dad nodded.
"Just give me a second kiddo. I got to wake up a little." He said. Ted nodded and walked up to his room. His room was small but it had everything ted ever needed. He had a bed, a tv, and a xstation gaming system. It was more than enough. And he was never usually inside. So most of the stuff in here rarely got used. Ted ran into his room and dropped his bag off. Then went back downstairs.
"How was school?" Ted's dad asked. He was now dressed in a fisherman's jacket and was holding two fishing rods holding one out for ted.
"Boring. Wish U was done already." Ted said taking the fishing rod.
"Welp all you got left is one week." His dad said ted and his dad walked out and started their way to the beach.
"Hope we catch something. We could use the money. Right dad?" Ted said. His dad loomed over quickly.
"You don't worry about that. You worry about school." His dad said seriously. Its what he always said. It just made less sense now. They walked the rest of the way in silence. Ted knew that his dad wasn't doing the best with money. He also knew that his dad only made money by selling the fish they cought. It was a lot to think about. Was he really going to leave him behind. Ted and his dad walked across the beach and onto the only dock at the beach. Both adding bait to their rods like a cannon ready to fire. And just like ine they launched there cast far into the ocean. Ted sat and watched as the string bobbed up and down. All the better watching the sun go down. Their they sat. Father and son. Just trying to catch the big fish. But they never did. Ted looked over at his dad. Standing at the edge of the dock both eager and disappointed.
"Dad maybe we should just pack it up and go home." Ted said.
"Yeah. Know what, I'll go. I can take all of this home. You can save what's left of the night. Bye son. See yeah when you get home." Ted's dad said. Ted felt guilty. Another day without fish to sell.
"Ok dad. See ya later." Ted said. He watched as his dad packed everything they brought and left. Ted sat down and did nothing. Only or a few minutes then got up and walked to where the fire pit is at. He stroke up a match and put some leaves and twigs in the pit and started the fire. About ten minutes conner and sarah showed up. Then lastly tyler. Everyone started talking like they usually did. Only ted didn't. And sarah noticed.
"Ted what's wrong. And don't say nothing I can tell there is something." She said. Conner and tyler nodded noticing what sarah seen.
"It's really nothing. I'm just thinking." Ted said.
"Then stop because you look sad and that brings down the vibe." Conner said.
"There's a lot on my mind guy's maybe I should go home." Ted said. Everyone Immediately started yelling there protest.
"Let's find something that'll get whatever's on your mind off of it." Sarah said.
"We can toss him in the water." Conner suggested earning a hit in the arm by tyler.
"No that's something that's reserved for you to do." Tyler said marking everyone laugh. Except for ted.
"Stop acting like that!" Tyler yelled over everyone elses laughter. They heard so.eone yelling and got quite. Then they heard it again.
"Would you stupid kids shut the heck up I'm trying to sleep." They all heard.
"I have the perfect idea." Sarah said. Everyone looked at her.
"Lets toilet paper that guys house!" She said excitedly. Everyone looked at her plainly.
"What year is this again?" Conner said sarcastically. Sarah glared at him.
"Because even today that sounds like a good idea." Conner coughed out. Tyler leaned closer to conner and whispered.
"Good save." Tyler said.
"Good idea!" Ted said sarah smiled.
"Good, because I was doing with or without you. That's my math teacher's house and he gave me a sixty on my test today." Sarah said pulling out a bag. She opened it and pulled out a roll for everyone. They all ran off the beach and onto the street on front of the house.
"Ready. Aim. Fire!" Sarah yelled. All four kids started throwing toilet paper around the trees and bushes around the house. Once they were done they walked back to the street to see what they did.
"It's like a work of art." Ted said making everyone laugh. After they high fived they said there goodbyes and went home for the night.
