Ted opened his eyes. He took a deep breath and started coughing. He looked around at where he was while he coughed up sand. He was at the beach. It didn't take long for memerys to flood in. But there was a lot missing. He remembered being at the beach but how did he fall asleep in the sand? He looked down at his phone and saw it was graduation day. He sighed then realized what he just saw.
"It's graduation day!" He said scared. He was probably going to be late. He looked back at his phone which confirmed his thoughts. He had to get home fast. With that he took off down the road twords his house. He had to change. It didn't take long to get home. He ran inside and went to his stairs to his room but was stopped by his dad.
"What are you doing here? Your supposed to be graduating." His dad said. Ted rolled his eyes looking back at his dad.
"Need to change first. I got to go fast dad. I'll see you later ok?" Ted said.
"Or at graduation?" Ted's dad said smiling. Ted couldn't believe it. His whole life his dad had been to busy to come to any of Ted's biggest achievements.
"That's amazing dad!" Ted said. Smiling wide. He went up to his room as fast as he could and changed. After he changed ted ran down the steps getting a text halfway down. It was from tyler.
"Where you at? Better not still be on that beach idiot." Ted read. He responded with a 'on my way' and ran out the door. But his dad ran out after him.
"Where you going? I font want you to be late. Hop in." He said pointing to his truck anf hopping into the drivers side. Ted ran back and hopped in as well. The ride wasn't bad at all. Ted's dad was more excited than ted himself. It made him laugh. When they got there ted hopped out and ran past a couple guards who let him past. When he got to the stage there was only one other person and she was walking off. Once he got on the stage completely the principle called his name, gave him his high school diploma, and shook his hand letting him pass. Those five seconds were probably the most important seconds of his life. He officially was an adult. And his dad seen it all happen. It was perfect. As ted walked iff the stage he met up with his friends. They were all talking. As ted got closer he heard that they were talking about him abd the night before.
"Leave the kid alone. He wasn't ok last night." Sarah said. She was talking to tyler.
"He couldn't be ok. He fell out of the lifeguard stand and got knocked out." Tyler said. Ted walked over to them.
"I had three drinks last night. And don't forget you walked me to the beach instead of my house like I wanted to." Ted said. After that he walked off. He had nothing left to talk about with them. He walked past the officers one last time and up to his dad's truck. His dad wasn't there but conner was as he walked past.
"Hey ted." He said. Ted just ignored him and kept walking.
"Are you going to the party?" Conner called. Ted still ignored him.
"Ok well I will be there!" Conner called again. Ted kept walking to the beach. It was a perfect day to hang out at the beach but ted didn't want to do anything. He was trying to remember the night before. To be honest he didn't remember a lot. Not much after brooklyn saying no. It wasn't a good night after that. He walked up to the lifeguards chair. The day was close to ending now and the party would be starting soon. He wanted to go but ye didn't want to be near tyler or anyone else. He just sat their watching the water. Soon the sun started to set. He still didn't move. Them he heard a kid walking up and knocking oh the chair ted was sitting on. Ted looked down and saw tyler.
"Look ted man, Im sorry. Just come to the party. It wont be the same without you." Tyler said. Ted just looked down at him.
"You were really messed up last night dude. Lucky we didn't take videos." He said making them both laugh.
"Fine I'll go. But I'm still upset at you." Ted said.
"I'll take it!" Tyler said. Ted hopped down from the chair and followed tyler to the party.
