Mission (2)

"Remember, watch your six" James said through the earpiece. 

The area was crowded, which means civilians everywhere. 

We were at a park. There are a few cafes around, a lake, kids playing and people exercising. A couple of tall office buildings are in sight too.

Sam was walking around by the lake. 

James and I were sitting at the café, different tables after I convinced him that I will be alright if we were not sitting at the same table. But he could still perfectly see me. 

"Man on bench at my 4 seems suspicious" I said. 

"Two others by the tree near the phone booth" Sam reported.

"Stay calm, remember, don't attract attention" 

We looked at the large group of man in suits exiting the building. 

Bingo. The man we were looking for was there, now we just need to wait for the right time to get to him. 

They began to dismiss themselves. 

"Execute step B" 

We eyed down our suspect and began to follow, avoiding suspicions.

Things were going according to plan so far. 

We managed to corner him, as how the plan was supposed to go. 

He panicked when he realized what was happening. 

"Nice to meet you Mr Mill" Sam casually greeted him. 

"Mind if we ask you a few questions?" James asked. 

I froze when I heard the sound of a gun click directly behind my head. 

"Shit"

James immediately grabbed his pistol and pointed it directly behind me, and Sam pointed his to Mill. 

I raised my hands as the situating got more tense. 

"What business do you have with that man" The guy behind me asked. 

"Let the girl go" James said coldly.

I relaxed myself, I had training for this type of situation and James was aware. I made eye contact with him, telling him to trust me. He did.

In an instant, I bent down and used my legs to sweep off the legs of the guy behind me. 

He fell down and I kicked the gun away from him and proceeded to knock him out. 

Seconds later, three more armed men were around us and opened fire. 

My instinct immediately kicked in and used my ability to shield ourselves. 

Sam and James fired back, while I shielded them. 

We managed to take them down and proceeded to go to where we were supposed to interrogate Mill. An abandoned basement under one of the buildings. I looked around to make sure we were not being followed. 

"You alright?" James asked me. 

I nodded. 

We tied him up as soon as we arrived at the basement. 

The three of us grouped before talking to him. 

"They opened fire even when there was a risk of him dying" I said to them. 

"Exactly, which means they would rather him be dead then telling us anything" Sam continued.

"Lets see what this son of a bitch has to say about this" James approached him.
