hinata woke up to a loud bang on the door, his body practically took a screenshot from the sudden noise.

he got up quickly and attempted to put some bottoms on, hopping on one leg whilst going towards the door trying to pull one leg of his joggers up.

before he could reach the door handle there was another knock, this one, louder and had much more force.

"jeez give me a sec, why so loud for? it's early.."

he opened the door to see a tall figure, he had a medium sized suitcase at his side, and a pretty full backpack on. his eyes were a deep ocean blue, along with his hair being a dark shade of black, his build was quite toned, but lacked muscle in some areas, he wore a navy blue cap, almost matching with his eye colour, along with a slightly oversized hoodie that had small writing in the top left corner of it, he had grey sweatpants on, nike socks and nike air jordans on to complete the look.

not bad

before hinata could say anything, the unknown guy walked in and proceeded to the vacant room in the doom.

a new roommate? but i didn't get a letter informing me about this- actually i probably did but just threw it away. and talk about rude? no introduction or anything- and i had the audacity to think things couldn't get any worse.

hinata snapped out of his thoughts abruptly, closed the door and followed his new roommate into his room.

he leaned against the doorframe and tilted his head to the side, watching his new roommate unpack, he reminded hinata of his ex, they had a similar build and personality. hinata could predict what this guys personality was by first glance, he had to be cold and not very social, to hinata he looked like the type of guy that would purposely isolate himself from everyone.

"so much for an introduction." hinata sharply stated.

the boy turned to look at the short ginger, only to reply with a slight hum.

"well.. i'm hinata shoyo, are you my new roommate?" hinata asked in attempt to make conversation.

"kageyama tobio, and what does it look like dumbass?"

dumbass? did he really just-

"how rude." hinata replied at the harsh words that were spat at him, he turned around, shut his new roommates door and walked into his own room.

kageyama's pov-
he watched as his roommate closed the door and heard his retreating footsteps. he breathed out and slouched down onto the floor; limbs tired from unpacking.

aaaand i just screwed up my chances of getting an actual friend. damn, why am i so harsh all the time? first impressions count, and you just fucked up already.

on that note, kageyama decided it would be best if he'd properly introduce himself to his new roommate, he definitely came across as rude earlier and thought that possibly he could attempt to make a new first impression. he got up slowly, stretched his back and left his room.

hinata's pov-
he heard a knock on his door, a similar but less powerful knock to what he heard earlier, remembering what he told himself - to stay calm and be subtle about everything - he replied with a light "hm?"

the door opened, displaying the familiar tall figure.

he came to my room? that's unexpected from someone as stubborn as him..

hinata glanced over from his phone to see the guy staring at him, almost as if he was trying to read his mind.

"uhhh are you good? did you need something?" hinata questioned lightly.

"yeah i just.. uh.. sorry for being rude earlier i just.. that's just me.. i guess." kageyama replied breaking eye contact.

him saying sorry? not like i know this guy at all but.. that's weird..

taking advantage of the situation, hinata chuckled, it progressively turned into a laugh, leaving kageyama confused, his eyebrows furrowed.

hinata looked over noticing kageyama's face and lightened up a little. he smiled brightly- a genuine smile, something he hadn't done for months on end. he soon stopped, realising what he had just done and let his face sink back to a neutral tone.

kageyama's pov-
i looked up back at hinata after breaking eye contact and he was laughing, a laugh straight from the guy, he then smiled, it was beautiful and bright- reminded me of the sun, his hair added to the mental image.

kageyama felt a sense of relief looking at such a bright soul, he hadn't been around people like this for a while and it felt refreshing. maybe moving wasn't such a bad idea.

soon, the comfortable silence turned awkward. hinata had stopped smiling and remained bothered for some unknown reason.

"aaah it's- don't worry about it, you probably just wanted to get in and get everything packed away as quickly as you could. i understand, i would've done the same." hinata replied picking his phone back up from his side and continued doing whatever he was originally doing.

i find it hard to believe you'd to the same as i did. since you seem to be such a bright person. but what's with the sudden mood change?

kageyama tried to smile. it was a forced/ awkward smile since he barely smiled, and with that he closed the door and returned to his room. ready to start fresh from tomorrow.
