And please welcome the Most Amazing and Hard Working Author yourmuslimah 🤝
So yeah let's get started😚🤞
🎤INTRODUCTION
Assalamu'Alaykum! My name is Sumaya, also known as yourmuslimah here on wattpad. I'm a university student with a very strong passion for writing and all things cute! I love coffee, winter, bullet journaling and going on walks. My most favourite thing in the world is writing and linking that passion with Islam. I'm always trying to benefit the people somehow, so it's something I enjoy a lot!
🎤What inspired you to start writing?
I've always had a vivid imagination, ever since I was a little girl. My father used to tell us all types of stories and would encourage me every time I showed a bit of my creative side. He inspired me to start writing.
🎤When did you start writing?
When I was in middle school, I wrote a little story called 'Sucker Punch' in my lined notebook, and my friends would bother me day in and out to write the next chapter for them to read. I think it was then that I realized I was good at doing something I enjoyed.
🎤Have you always wanted to be a writer?
I've dreamed of writing stories and books of my own since I was eleven. But before then, I wanted to become a veterinarian.
🎤What comes first the plot or the Characters?
The plot, most definitely. By doing it that way, it's a lot easier to create your characters and the environment they're in without getting stuck on the little details. It'll flow better that way!
🎤What is the most difficult part about writing for you?
I often get writer's block - which is extremely aggravating. When you're writing from your imagination, it can get overwhelming dealing with the infinite events that can occur. Whatever you write down is what you stick with throughout the story, so keeping note of every feeling, every event and every detail for each time you sit and write gets pretty tough.
🎤When you're writing an Emotional, Sad, Romantic scene, how did you get in the mood?
A lot of my sad or upsetting chapters are written when I'm in a sad or depressed mood. The same goes for my happy chapters. If I have a conflict coming up in one of my chapters, oftentimes I'll wait for the right moment where I'm feeling that sentiment (whether it's sadness or happiness) to write wholly and truthfully with precise detail.
