🎤INTRODUCTION

This is how much I'm willing to reveal at this moment:

Name: Maria

Place: North America

Age: A teenager

🎤What inspired you to start writing?

I found three reasons/inspirations for me to write. Two of them are just for writing for myself, while the last inspires me to write for a broader audience than my future or current self.

Sort out my life: This is the journaling type stuff generally. I may wait a day or two to first mentally process major events in my life and then write about it to finish processing it/find closure. Often, I find I just record the most basic, simplified version of the event I can, and then use that to explore possible future actions and my emotional reaction. So, life events inspire me to write.

Exploring fantasies: This inspired a lot of my earliest, worst writing. I wrote characters I wanted to be, but wasn't, taking actions I wanted to, but couldn't. The results are saddening, but once I realized how truly horrible they were, I could force myself to focus on more meaningful writing (though I can't say for sure the quality improved that much). So, imagined events can inspire me to write.

**Singular moments that should be shared:**I mostly write realist fiction and poetry, and so I'm most often inspired by a single snapshot of time which I think carries a beauty to it. I just see something and think, "I should write about that." Sometimes the results turn into pseudo-philosophy, other times it turns out passably. If it isn't an image, I can also find stories from friends or my own life that lead me to wonder about a different viewpoint, character, or situation. I suppose it is still self-serving to write because I wonder about something, but I also think there's a point to sharing that sort of work.

🎤When did you start writing?

Since I was a kid, I've been "writing," but my interest in writing started last year.

🎤Have you always wanted to be a writer?

LOL. I could never! I was never interested in becoming a writer because I despised writing.

🎤What comes first the plot or the Characters?

100% Plot.

🎤What is the most difficult part about writing for you?

I think it going back and editing your works.

🎤When you're writing an Emotional, Sad, Romantic scene, how did you get in the mood?

Usually, I read a scene that really inspires me to write on of the scenes above.
