"I guess I'm holding onto something that I know

will probably never happen, because somewhere

deep down inside me, I have this little piece of hope

that someday, it will..."

-

The two stood there for a while in awkward silence. Neither one knew what to say. Hinata looked at the ground, trying so hard not to cry. He had to tell the team a secret he had hidden for such a long time. Daichi stole a glance at him and put a hand on his head. He smiled softly towards the smaller male a quiet sigh escaping his lips.

Hinata shifted his head to look up at Daichi and smiled back at him, eyes glassy with unshed tears. Daichi removed his hand from on top of Hinata's head and moved it down to hold his hand. A small blush framed Hinata's face and the two teens strolled through the park.

The two started a small conversation and they walked to nowhere, small smiles gracing both their lips. Their legs started to get tired, so they searched for a place to sit down. And that's when they saw it, a small flower patch that looked very nice. Hinata dragged Daichi towards it and sat down admiring the dandelions.

Daichi sat down as well and watched Hinata with admiring eyes. Hinata looked so pure and precious with the sun starting to set across the horizon casting a beautiful hue across Hinata's features. He reached out to continue holding Hinata's hand. Hinata looked up at Daichi and smiled lacing his fingers with Daichi.

"Did you know dandelions are the first plant to grow after a wildfire?" Hinata tilted his head with wide, wondrous eyes.

Daichi chuckled, "No, where'd you find that out?"

"I guess it's just something I know.." Hinata looked up at the clouds.

"I could say you're like a dandelion."

"How so?" Hinata looked at Daichi.

"Dandelions symbolize the sun, and you're like the embodiment of the sun. Even your name means sun."

"I guess I am then.." Hinata smiled softly and looked back up. Daichi moved closer to Hinata so that they were sitting side by side. Hinata leaned his head on Daichi's shoulder and moved further into Daichi's warmth. Daichi laid his head on top of Hinata's and closed his eyes. The two sat there in peaceful silence until the moon came out.

Daichi unlocked his door and the two walked in. He closed and locked the door behind them just in time to hear Hinata let out a tired yawn. He walked over to Hinata and put his hand on the small of his back. Hinata was led to Daichi's room and towards the bed. Daichi crawled in after and pulled Hinata close.

The night was filled with soft snores and the sound of crickets from outside. The moon shone through the window illuminating a bit of the room including the two heads laying peacefully on the pillow. Their chests rose and fell at a subtle rhythm as the two were consumed in sleep.

-

Hinata woke up with a sense of emptiness. Something was missing, but he couldn't quite figure it out. That was until he opened his eyes. He looked around the room, but he couldn't find Daichi anywhere. Eventually, he gave up and walked out towards the kitchen.

When he stepped onto the cold tile floor and looked up to see Daichi making breakfast. He sighed as he realized he was worrying over nothing. Walking up to Daichi, he rubbed his neck. He buried his head into Daichi's back and closed his eyes from tiredness.

Daichi smiled softly and flipped the omelet in the pan he was holding. He continued cooking breakfast with the warm feeling of Hinata on his back. "Hinata, can you move? I have to get plates," He lightly nudged him with his elbow. Hinata grumbled, but complied and moved to sit down at the table.

Daichi set the table and poured orange juice into each of their glasses. Hinata took a look at his plate. It was a ham and cheese omelet with hashbrowns on the side. He took a bite of the food and melted at the taste. It was delicious.

When both finished, they moved to the couch to pick up where they left off on Violet Evergarden. Hinata was leaning his head onto Daichi's shoulder and Daichi had an arm around him. Both were blushing at the touches, but neither complained nor moved.

This is how the rest of their day went. They watched TV, ate lunch, watch more TV, eat dinner, watch even more TV, and go to sleep cuddled in each other's arms. Hinata was starting to like living with Daichi.
