"Please, sit down."

Daichi pulled the chair next to him out ushering Hinata to sit down. Hinata took a seat slowly. He looked at his shakey hands probably from the anxiety coursing through him at that exact moment. Talking was the last thing on his mind, but he made a promise to Daichi and he doesn't plan to break it.

Hinata has never broken a promise. Even when it seems impossible to keep it, he's always kept his word. A lot of people overlook his loyalty to friends and even his horrible family. There was no way he would ever let anyone down. This is the one thing that has kept him stable. A continuous thing. How could something so simple help him so much?

Hinata was brought back to the real world by Daichi clearing his throat. This made him dive into the deeper depths of darkness again. He was so lost in his thoughts, he totally forgot about what was to come.

"I looked through your diary," Daichi said softly, but still making his point across to Hinata who was now a little panicked. "It was only the first page," Daichi started, "but why didn't you tell me you're getting abused?" Hinata just realized what the talk was about.

"I-I didn't want to w-worry anyone."

"I could have helped you."

"B-But what if they hurt me again..?"

"I would never let that happen," Daichi said with a soft smile looking gently into the sunshine's still bright eyes.

Hinata smiled back. This was the moment he dreamed of. When someone promised to help him. It wasn't often he found someone to listen to his problems. Most people turned their backs on him. Who would want to listen to the boy who's always happy and annoying? How could he have such serious problems?

Hinata hadn't realized he was thinking out loud until Daichi put his hand on Hinata's shoulder. "You have just as important problems as anyone else. If they don't see that, they're idiots."

Hinata was taken back. He was just now realizing he was spilling all his problems onto Daichi. "I'm sorry.."

"What..?"

"I'm sorry."

Daichi was shocked and confused. Why would he apologize. Daichi was more than happy to listen to his problems. Hell, he would sit there all day and listen to just this one boy's life story. This boy was the one thing that made his day worthwhile. He daydreams at night thinking about him and he watches him during practice.

"Why would you apologize!? It's not your fucking fault your parents are too blind to see how wonderful you are!"

Hinata flushed red. He couldn't believe it. The first person he actually told about his problems doesn't think of him as a burden? Is he stuck in a dream and can't wake up? He wanted this to last forever.

His thoughts were interrupted with a ringtone. Who could be calling him? He picked up his phone and answered it.

"Where are you!?"

...

Crap.
