It all started when Peter bumped into a boy.

"Sorry, sorry," Peter apologized furiously as he turned to look at the person. He was young but older than Peter. The boy turned to Peter and nodded.

They kept walking.

Surprisingly, they walked into the same elevator. The private elevator that took them to the Avengers compound.

Peter frowned all the way but kept his quiet. Maybe he is just a friend of one of the Avengers, Peter thought and shook it off.

Oh boy, was he wrong!

The door opened and Harvey walked out. Peter, knowing that this wasn't the floor he wanted to go, stayed in.

Peter soon reached the floor and walked into one of Tony's labs. His head travelled back to the day when Tony had promised that they would be spending the Friday making a new A.I.

Peter arranged the things necessary and to pass his time, decided to add some upgrades to his Web shooters. Time passed by.

Peter looked up at his S.I. watch and noticed that the time was 6:00pm.

He frowned.

Mr. Stark was supposed to arrive at five. Why was he late? Maybe he had an important meeting. But Peter continued with his Web Shooters.

A while later, Peter noticed the time, again.

10:00pm.

Four hours... No, five hours.

Mr. Stark had never, ever ghosted Peter. He wouldn't, would he?

Just thinking about it made Peter's head ache.

Suddenly, the door opened and Bruce stepped in. Noticing Peter, he frowned.

"Peter, what are you doing here?"

Peter took some time to observe Bruce. He was covered in cake. Confetti and iced strings covered him.

Before Peter could respond, Bruce spoke up, "We thought you weren't going to show up..."

Peter frowned, "Where's Dad?"

"Tony?" Bruce started. "He was with us downstairs in the living room and w- Pete, what's wrong?"

Peter didn't realize that he was making a face. He force-smiled.

"It's nothing."

But was it? Was it nothing?

Tony had not shown up at one of their lab days. Maybe he had something important to look after... Something more important.

But Peter was disappointed and he was also very bad at lying. He knew that Bruce would look right through it.

"Uh, what are you doing here?" Peter changed the subject.

Bruce smiled warmly, "I forgot my watch when I came here this morning."

Peter grinned. Picking up a watch, he said, "Talking about this, Uncle Brucie?"

"Thank you, Peter," He smiled as he wore his watch, already have taken it from Peter. "You're staying tonight, right?

Peter nodded, smiling, "Yes, I'm staying over the weekend but right now, I was thinking of patroling a little."

Bruce nodded in understanding, "Be back before curfrew."

That was the last thing Peter heard before swinging away.

Peter was not back before curfrew... He was an hour late.

He sneaked into the tower using the secret window that Peter had discovered. A window that Friday couldn't detect.

It wasn't supposed to exist but when Loki had  invaded NYC, this part had not been repaired properly.

He tiptoed into his room and went to sleep.

Peter walked into the dining room groaning, having woken up with a mild headache.

Suddenly, he bumped into someone, again.

Peter heard him before he say him.

"You?"

Peter stared at the boy standing in front of him.

"What are you doing here?" He asked.

"I could ask you the same question, kid," The boy deadpanned.

For some reason, hearing the boy say it made Peter furious.

Just then, Tony walked in.

"Peter! When did you arrive?" He said.

Peter's wince went unnoticed as he said, "Yesterday."

"Oh, no! I'm so sorry, Pete... I forgot about the lab day. Harley came to visit."

He forgot...

Peter nodded, "It's okay, dad."

But was it?

"Dad?" Harley questioned, shocked.

Tony nodded, "I practically adopted him. Well, Peter, meet Harley! Harley, meet Peter!"

Peter suddenly became conscious of his Ironman pajamas. Harley and Peter glared at each other. Tony, oblivious to all this, spoke up, "Come on, kids. You have to eat now."

So they ate.

Tony and Peter were baking, well, trying to bake cookies. Covered in dough, they were having fun. Peter had a feeling that Tony was doing this to make up for missing the lab day yesterday.

Things were going fine but then, Harley walked in.

"Tony, did you see my A.O.K robot? I can't find it!"

Tony frowned, "I'm pretty sure we left it somewhere..."

Peter stopped hearing as he watched Tony wash his hands and walk away with Harley, not even sparing a glance at him.

It was at that moment that Peter hated Harley. More than anything. Harley was taking away Tony, his dad and Peter wasn't going to let that happen...

Peter walked into the room, tired. The burn on his right hand... well, burned!

"Hey Pete!" Rhodey greeted him from afar. They were watching TV news. Suddenly, he saw Harley. He was leaning on Tony and they were sitting around talking.

It hurt more than it was supposed to.

Peter should have been the one beside Tony. Peter started the walk away.

The news reporter started speaking, "A fire broke out downtown in New York. One boy dead."

Peter stopped in his tracks. He was pretty sure he had brought everyone to safety but-

"Robert Holland, a thirteen year, was found dead on the third floor. Many were injured. Many have claimed to see Spiderman saving the citizens but the boy died. Is this a sign about how New York's superhero has gone lazy? Watch more to find out!"

Peter felt a pang of guilt. He had, in fact, been distracted. Distracted by the attention Harley had been getting from Tony and it had cost someone's life.

"Spiderman is lame!" Harley said, fueling Peter's anger. "It's like... he doesn't even care about anyone as long as he's in the news. Yes, he saves people but didn't you save the earth, Tony? Why can't Spidey use his powers for the greater good?"

"Harley, no," Tony scolded slightly.

But Rhodey turned to face Peter, "Peter, come here."

Peter didn't realize that he had started walking until Rhodey had called for him. And he kept walking.

Walking to his room, he slammed the door shut with a bang. He locked it and jumped into bed, letting all his tears flow out.
