That night, no one slept. At this point, Hulk had run out of things to destroy. The training room was a mess along with a few other rooms.

Steve, Natasha and a few others had recovered from their shock. Unfortunately, that didn't include Tony. He had spent the whole night beside Peter, saying nothing at all. The tower was unusually quiet.

"I brought pancakes..." Steve said from across the door. Tony chose that moment to break down.

"I failed him, Steve," Tony spoke for the first time since his outburst on  Bruce. "I failed him. I was supposed to be his mentor... His Dad. I was supposed to take care of him. But when he needed my support, I was... I was not there! It is my fault that Peter is..."

"Did you..." Clint asked hesitantly. "Were you... there?" Unable to respond, Tony nodded. "You know... I could have saved him if I were just a bit faster."

Natasha sat down near Peter's head and plays with his hair. "I should be able to read emotions. I was trained for this. How did he...?" Bruce showed up.

"Nat, it is not your fault... It's all of ours," He said. "Peter was-"

"Bruce, stop," Tony interrupted.

"Uh... Tony," Wanda walked into the room. "May, Peter's Aunt. Do you want me to...?"

Tony dreaded this. He had thought about this moment at night. But he needed to be the one to do it.

"No," Tony stood up. "I will do it."

"Okay," Tony walked outside and made the call.

"Hello?" A female voice came through the coms.

"May, this is Tony," He said slowly.

"Oh Stark, I was about to call you," She said cheerfully. "Is Peter there with you? He didn't return home yesterday. I was so worried."

Peter's dead. The words refused to come out of Tony's throat. "May, I want you to come to the tower. Peter, he... Just come to the tower quick."

Tony cut the phone before he could get a reply. Scared and angry at everything, he shed out another tear.

***

Tony found a hand placed on his shoulders.

Tony turned and found himself face to face with the person he hated most, Wade, a.k.a, Deadpool.

"What do you want?" Tony said flatly. He was too depressed to be good to Peter's boyfriend. "He isn't here. He never will be. So, out of my quarters! OUT!"

"You guys weren't the only people who loved that idiot, okay? What happened? Who-" Wade's voice broke. Tony let out a dreaded laugh.

"Nobody killed him."

Tony walked away leaving the heart-broken boyfriend alone. Leaving Wade alone to his own misery.

***

When May arrived, she didn't expect to find his niece dead. "Oh no..." She knelt down and burrowed herself, crying in his shoulders.

"What have you done, Peter?"

***

Ned arrived at school late that day. He entered the class, his eyes scanning for a specific brown-haired boy. Instead, he found MJ crying on Bucky's shoulders and the other students including Mr. Harrington still shell-shocked.

"What's happening? MJ, are you alright?"

What he got for an answer was not something he had expected. Bucky delivered a painful message.

"Peter is dead. Spider-man is dead."

***

The next few days were very hard for Tony and everybody else. As weeks passed, they missed Peter even more. Some moved on while many still missed their cinnamon roll. Tony, Steve, Natasha, Clint, Scott, and well, every other Avenger who knew Peter. They regretted not taking good care of him. But sometimes people do get happy endings, right?

Pepper and Tony got together.

Morgan was born.

Bucky and Steve finally admitted that they loved each other and thus, formed Stucky.

Clint just retired peacefully and spent time with his family and many other things happened. Changes.

But even though they achieved all this, they still missed Peter. They always would.
