Peter looked over Queens as if he was the city's own guardian angel - which being said, was kind of true. Spiderman had saved a lady from being robbed. He had taught a boy how to cross the road and helped an old man find his way to Valdez's Mechanics.

Now, he sat on the roof of a building a bit far from the city, depending on his Spidey tingle to warn him of any trouble out on the streets.

Truly, he felt like a guardian and protector.

From here, he could see the Stark tower - The Avengers Tower - shining among many other tall towers and buildings. Manhattan was beautiful indeed but Stark tower often seemed like the midst of it all.

Earlier that day, Peter, along with many other students, had applied for an internship at the Tower; their aim being nothing more than getting to meet the Tony Stark and work under him as an intern. An internship from that place could change everything in one's life. Imagine a golden ticket you could use anywhere.

After Uncle Ben's death, this was the closest thing Peter and his aunt had come to getting their lives stable. And Peter didn't want to miss it.

Of course, him being Spiderman complicated things. Many things. One of the billion being his identity remaining a secret. The most important one.

And that proved to be a really bad thing to think of at the moment because it acted as a jinx.

Peter's tingle tingled and he jumped out of the way just as an arrow passed through where he and just sat.

He was pretty high up. And the buildings were very far apart this far away from the city. Not too down, he could see a construction site. Got it.

Peter turned ubruptly as soon as he landed back on his feet. What he saw made his mouth drop. Even his sassy part couldn't control and comprehend it.

Standing right in front of him was...

"Captain America," Peter stifled his fanboying side and said.

"In flesh and bone." Cap didn't smile. Peter's gaze subconsciously moved all around him. There, on another building was Hawkeye, nocking another arrow. Behind Cap stood Natasha Romanoff in all her glory. She didn't carry any visible weapons but Peter didn't let that fool him.

She was an assassin, for gods' sake!

She glared at Peter, making him gulp internally. She was MJ's role model and MJ alone was scary enough. The woman in front of him knew no bounds. He suddenly thanked the mask covering his facial expressions.

"Hey," Peter squeaked, anyways. He waved. She didn't return it.

Only then did Peter realize that they were here for a reason and if there was no visible threat nearby... oh no, they were here for him. He raised his head and talked.

"Bit late for a stroll, don't you think?" Peter asked innocently. Peter's voice must've been hoarse the first time because he looked taken aback. Okay, maybe they hadn't expected a kid's voice inside Spiderman's spandex.

"We are here for you," Steve spoke.

"This complicates things. He is just a kid," Peter, with his hearing, heard Steve whisper.

Gods, just ask him politely, Steve, a voice spoke back. Peter blocked the urge to scream and fangirl for it was none other than Tony Shark's voice!

"He can hear us," Natasha whispered through the coms, then spoke a bit louder, "Can't you?"

Peter grinned at her. Indeed, a profession assassin. Then, to everyone else's surprise, he nodded.
