Max's P.O.V

Another day had gone by, my heart gripping onto the memories of that night. No matter how hard I was trying to forget it, the memory seems etched in my mind. I didn't want to dream that he would come, yet my eyes couldn't help but stare longingly at the door. Hoping he would walk through it, but that couldn't happen- I mean there was no way he would even know where he worked, considering that had not come up at all last night. Instead, my eyes remained focus on cleaning the tables, the dinging of the bell signalling the entrance of another customer. I didn't dare look up, I had been doing that pretty much all day- just staring at the door longingly every time it rang, hoping it was him that was walking through the door, only to be disappointed each and every time.

Yet, the hope didn't seem to have completely dissipated, my eyes flickering across the table and looking up at the figure that had just walked through the door. My eyes widened in shock, having to look him up and down twice to make sure that he was real. What...what was he doing here?

His eyes were scanning the area, clearly not having caught my eyes as I was serving the table in front of me. I felt like ducking out of here, going to hide in the back and refusing to come out again, but as soon as his eyes caught mine I was frozen in place. The way his eyes seemed to slightly light up when he caught mine made me melt inside, the butterflies starting again and giving me a sense of hope that he had really wanted to come to see me, but yet my mind couldn't help but question why. Why was I so special that he had taken an interest in me?

His strides seem determined as he walked over to me, the bodyguards that he had escorting him lingering at the door after his whispers with them, probably indicating that he wanted them to hold back for a while whilst he came over and talked to me, but their eyes were still very carefully trained on him. Probably not so much monitoring his actions, but more making sure nobody caused any problems or maybe even attempted to kidnap him- that was something that happened in books right?

"Max," he said, his voice coming out with an emotion he couldn't place. It sounded different to the first time he said his name, maybe a mixture of shock and hope? He couldn't place exactly what the emotion was, but it became clear once he pulled the card out of his pocket. "I thought it would be by some miracle if this had been dropped on the stairs and actually belonged to you, but I had to check it out-" he stopped himself. 'I had to see you again' his mind thought, but the thought did not escape his lips.

"What are you doing here?" He replied, scared that it had sounded like he didn't want him here, which was definitely far from the truth. He was so glad that he was here, shocked in fact but he wanted to know the reason why.

"Your words are taunting my mind, Max, they have been all I can think about since you left last night- I definitely did not go the most orthodox way about asking you to marry me<" he chuckles, a slight blush etching on his face as he remembers that whole fiasco. "But I came here because of what you said, you said you would've said yes if you got to know me better_" he hesitates and Max is gripping onto every word that comes out of his mouth, his hope increasing as he continues. "Consider this as my chance for you to get to know me better- I, I still have to be married by the end of the month and I know that is a really short time, it's just some stupid rules that they still haven't managed to get rid of, despite them managing to abolish the rule about marrying whatever gender before they did that one. Stupid really-" he chuckled, but looked up to meet his eyes again and gulping.

"I know a month really isn't a lot of time to maybe convince you to say yes to me, but you said you would've last night even after not knowing me long, but that was on the basis of you getting to know me better. I also want to get you to know me better, I would ask you to move in with me, I want to spend more time with you. Every day of this whole month if I have to, to possibly get you to fall in love with me and me with you. I know it is probably absurd and feeling like everything is moving so quickly-"

"Yes," he cuts him off, not even believing himself that he would both cut off the prince, but also that he would agree to move in with somebody he barely knew. Then again he had always wanted to live in a fairytale, this would be his opportunity too. If he moved in with Charming he would actually get to live in a castle and he felt like he would have to be absurd to turn down an opportunity to live in a castle, even more, insane if he also would turn down the opportunity to spend more time with the prince.

"What?" Charming says almost in disbelief, searching in his eyes to see if there is any sense of doubt hidden in them, but he is met with none. He coughs to almost cover up his gasp from how taken aback he is by Max's easy agreement. "Uhm okay- well if you're sure. I can send some transport to help move your stuff to the palace either today or tomorrow."

"Today- the sooner the better," he grinned, even more so when it seemed to make the prince blush a little by his eagerness. 'The sooner the better because the more time I get to spend with you'.
