A Jeweled Rose In Clone Wars

Part 17

Ruby was in her quarters in the Negotiator, Obi-Wan's ship, and she was just packing her stuff being a few photos, broken recordings, books, and machine parts that she built. It wasn't much, being able to fit in a school-sized backpack, but all those were important to her. She was moving out of the ship to where she was now being stationed. Ruby heard a knock on the door and told them whoever was there could come in.

"So you are not a padawan anymore," Cody said behind her, "You left the order, didn't you?"

"Well, I am not a padawan, you got the right," Ruby replied seeing the confused face on Cody, "I expected Master Kenobi to tell you that I am leaving because I being assigned somewhere else."

"Wait if you aren't a padawan, and you are still part of the military," Cody said putting the pieces together, "You are a Jedi Knight?!?

"Yep," Ruby said, "I am being assigned to my own fleet. I am now the general of the 162nd legion."

"So what does that legion do?" Cody asked.

"That is complicated," she stated, "We have two different stations. Front lines, protecting a planet, and some other things. I am one of the five generals that are also doing this."

"Well, good luck," Cody said, not sure how he sure feel about this.

"If I was Obi-Wan, I would talk about how there is no luck, but only the force," Ruby said jokingly, "However, I am not him."

"Yeah, you are the person who shows the entire legion and the commander of another legion their special ability, but not their own general," Cody said, "When Ahsoka and I asked about it you told us about aura and why we need to keep it secret. You also said you could give it to others, but it could be dangerous because we aren't from Remnant."

"What are you getting at?" Ruby said suspiciously, "You don't mean..."

"Didn't your mom have an aura?" he asked.

"Yes, why?" she replied.

"Well, she was from this universe so like me, and she was fine," Cody stated, "So shouldn't that mean I would be fine?"

"I would agree with you on that," Ruby said to the commander, "But she had to have come from Remnant because of one thing. My mom has silver eyes like me, which are only native to that planet. She was most likely a descendent of someone from the planet."

"Yes, but I am willing to take a risk," Cody said, "If it means that it could help me protect my brothers. So can you give me an aura?"

"I can't give you an aura," Ruby said, "I can unlock, but you are born with it. However, there might be side effects of unlocking it. Are you sure about this?"

"Yes, I am," Cody replied seriously.

"Just stand there then," she said, "I need to get a stool or something to stand on because you are taller than me."

Ruby grabbed a chair and stood on it, and placed a hand on his face. She told him to concentrate, and she chanted something. All of a sudden he felt different, but in a good way. He felt stronger and more powerful.

Ruby checked the time and looked alarmed. "Sorry I have to go," Ruby said running off with her items, "Try and concentrate to turn on your aura!"

(MONTHS LATER AT THE BATTLE OF RINGO VINDA)

Tup has shot a Jedi, been kidnapped by the enemy, and now is at Kamino with Five and Rex. Fives had to be left behind in the cloning facility because he may have been affected by a virus. They were doing tests to see what is wrong with clone trooper Tup, and ultimately Fives found out what the problem was, but sadly Tup still died. Fives was set for a mindwipe, and he managed to escape, but now he is surrounded by fellow troopers a Jedi and he is pointing a gun at the Kaminoan doctor Nala Se. They were exchanging threats before it came to this.

"You removed your inhibitor chip?" Nala Se said, "That makes you a threat to everyone here, and must be terminated!"

"I am not a piece of hardware," Fives said.

"You are owned by the Kaminoans," Nala Se replied.

"Actually," Jedi Master Shaak Ti said, "Because we commissioned the clones, he is owned by the Republic." Just then, they heard a door open behind them.

"By law, he is owned by no one. If he was that would be slavery, and that is illegal right?" a voice said, and soon Fives noticed who the figure was and looked in relief.

"Commander Rose?" Fives asked as he looked at her.

"Close, but it is General Rose now," Ruby said with a smile, but that smile disappeared when she turned around to face Shaak Ti, "Master, what is going on?"

"I didn't know you would come so early back from the front lines..." Nala Se said.

"Save it," Ruby said bitterly, "Now tell me, what is going on here?" She listened to a long explanation from the Kamino and then pointed her Crescent Rose at the doctor, ready to shoot.

"What is going on!?" Shaak Ti demanded.

"Apologies master, but this Kamino has committed crimes against sentient beings, and must be taken into custody," Ruby said and turned to Fives, "Any attempts for her to escape, will leap to an immediate execution. Anyone, no matter how high of a rank they are, will also be terminated if they get involved and try to harm you to help her escape. Do you understand Fives?"

"Yes ma'am," he replied. 'Finally, someone who gives a damn about us clones,' he thought to himself.

"You can't do that!" Nala Se said, "This is Kamino, and we have different laws here than where ever you came from-"

"-Save it for the jury," Ruby interrupted, "Also this is Republic law, and that is over your laws, so if anything you might be getting your entire planet in trouble. Also after all this, Fives will be taken into the custody of my fleet to see if he actually is aggressive, and can be put back in the line of duty as a draft..."

As they walked in the hallways to a ship, the clones around them just saluted to the two generals. "General Rose," one of them said, "That clone is dangerous, why aren't you arresting him? Is it because he is holding a gun to the doctor's head?"

"The doctor is a criminal," Ruby replied, "She tried to wipe the memory and even kill Fives, one of your brothers, and that is a crime against all sentient livings things. She might end up getting the death sentence for everything she put you and your brothers through Steel."

(WHAT HAPPENED AFTERWARDS)

Apparently, the inhibitor chips were to keep the clones calm, and Tup's one was infected by a parasite making him go crazy, at least that was what Ruby was told. The Kamino Doctor was punished, and Fives was forced to have a new chip, but it was fine with him. Everything was fine, but something just didn't feel right to Ruby.
