As Ali drove home the next day, she thought of how she was going to bring Jake back? She needed help. She needed to confide in someone and the one person that came to mind was the strange professor Wright. She wanted to head home to see if there was anymore letter from Jake. But instead she made a turn and headed to the school to see the professor.
Alex was packing up his bag to leave when Ali walked in.
"Ali? have you decided to sign up for my class?" he asked jokingly
"Not really although I should," Ali responded
"Hmm and why is that?" he asked as if he didn't know.
"You were right the other day; someone is trapped in time," Ali blurted out.
"Who Ali? Are you saying that you are from the past?" He asked.
"No, not me....My fiance, Jake Acevedo....he played on the basket ball team," Ali said.
"I know of the fellow; why do you think he is from the past?" Alex said.
"He is stuck in the future, I have proof that he is not in our time anymore," Ali said, now in tears
Alex stopped in his track and sat down on the corner of his desk. "What do you mean?" he asked.
"Jake fell through time to the future," Ali cried.
Alex got up and closed his office door. "What proof do you have of this Ali? he whispered.
"I got a letter from him but it is dated August of 2100," she said.
"Is it possible that this is an error?" he asked.
"No, he told me what happened to him," she said blotting her eyes.
"Where is this letter? let me see?" he said holding out his hand.
"Its at the house," Ali said.
"Ali I am sorry to say this, but is it possible he is just trying to get out of marrying you? Men are capable of such deceit," he said.
"I thought of that too but his mother is going crazy; she has not heard from him in over a month," Ali said.
Alex picked up his bag and Jacket. "Come on lets go see what this letter is about," Alex said.
On entering the house. Alex stopped at the door before entering. "There is a lot of energy right here," he said. Ali nodded.
She brought him into her office. She pulled out the letter from its hiding place and hand it over.
The professor examined the letter carefully. "How did you get it? was it in an envelope?" he asked.
"It was in the mailbox and it came in that strange envelope you have in your hand," Ali said.
"Wow, this is fancy and the paper this letter is written on is quite unique," he said.
"Tell me that you believe me," Ali said.
"Tell me all about Jake," the professor said. Ali told him all she knew including what his mother said about his father leaving and not coming back.
"You said that he worked on some algorithms that his teachers thought were beyond brilliant? Alex asked.
"They thought he was a genius and they encouraged him to apply to a tech company in California; they claimed that he would be a great asset to that company," Ali continued.
"Is this the only letter you have received and have you written back?" he asked as if he was a detective working on a mystery case.
Ali handed the last letter she got . "I wrote back to him and he replied , see," Ali said.
