14 - The Files

Password incorrect try again' flashed across the screen for what seemed like the millionth time to Padme. As she tried the last code, which she randomly named waterfalls because why the kriff not, she dragged her hands and rested her head on the desk, waiting for the obnoxious beep that signalled her defeat. Surprisingly, she never heard it.

Padme looked up to her datapad, excitement displayed on her face. '150 files downloaded' as written in the top right corner of the screen. The baby started kicking inside of her, startling Padme. "Alright little one I'm looking I'm looking," Padme said, grabbing the data pad off the stand and walking, or should I say waddling towards the kitchen to make herself a cup of tea.

Padme scrolled through the files, looking to see if any looked out of the ordinary as she sat down with her cup of tea back at her desk. She randomly picked one of the files and waited for it to load as she looked at the file's name, Contingency order 66.

Padme took a sip of her tea as she started to read the file. "In the event of Jedi officers acting against the interests of the Republic, and after receiving specific orders verified as coming directly from the Supreme Commander (Chancellor), GAR commanders will remove those officers by lethal force, and command of the GAR will revert to the Supreme Commander (Chancellor) until a new command structure is established."

Padme gasped and knocked over her cup, spilling hot liquid all over the desk. The clones, some of them the Jedi were so close to, the people she was fighting for the rights of, were being controlled. By Palpatine. One of her closest friends, someone she helped get into office, who she repeatedly went to for advice whilst Queen. Padme felt sick. The person so greatly loved by the people, could wipe out the entire Jedi order with 3 words.

She needed to get this information to the Jedi council, they had to know what Palpatine was plotting. Grabbing her data pad, she left her apartment and headed towards the Jedi temple, where a meeting was currently being held.

I think this is the first time I've actually updated when I said I was going to update, so that's fun fun.

Anyway, here is chapter 14! Padme just found out about order 66, oooooooo 

I'll try (emphasis on the try) to get another chapter up this week, but I think the more frequent I update the more chapters that r going to be about the same length as this chapter.
