I couldn't help the smile on my face when I entered my tiny apartment to find Hayley laying down on the couch, a dozen of movies and candy sitting on the coffee table.
Her eyes were shut and a tiny snore from her mouth made its appearance every once in a while. It was obvious that she had fallen asleep waiting up for us.

Before I could make my move to walk over to wake her up, Lola had already squirmed her way from my arms and was at Hayley's legs, poking and shaking them.

"Lola Michelle, get your ass over here," I hissed. The small child stopped what she was doing almost automatically and began to pout.

"Sorry Momma."

"I know you're excited, sweetheart, but let her sleep for right now. Alright?"

Lola nodded her head and made her way over to me, attempting to grab the bag in my hands that was labeled with her name.

"No way, little miss. These are too heavy for you."

"No they're not. I'm strong," she protested.

Suddenly out of the corner of my eyes I saw movement and let out a sly smile.

"How about I go and take the bags to our rooms, and you stay here and talk to your Aunt Hayley."

Lola's eyes widened as a pair of large arms wrapped around her tiny waist and she quickly turned around, only to be bombarded by wet kisses being planted all over her face.

I smiled widely as loud squeals erupted through the room.

"Mommy, help!"

"Help yourself," I laughed.

Before I could even process what was happening Lola's giggles became ever louder and I was being thrown over someone's shoulders.

My eyes went wide in surprise and I let out a loud squeal, kicking my feet back and forth.

"Hayley Elizabeth, let me down right fucking now before I murder you!"

I suddenly felt a hard sting on my ass and let out another squeal.

"Don't curse in front of your six year old, asswipe."

I balled up my fists and began to aimlessly punch her in the back.

"Don't tell me what to do!"

Hayley let out loud laugh and ran down the hallway to my bedroom, throwing my onto the bed with Lola following shortly after.

"God, I missed you all."

Turning onto my side, I pulled Lola into me and kissed her on the cheek.

"We missed you, too. Didn't we Lolo?"

"Yep!"

Hayley sighed loudly and jumped onto the bed with us, "Well what do you all say that we have a girls night? I've got candy and princess movies."

"Yay!"

"That's sounds great."

Hayley quickly scooped Lola into her arms and ran back into the living room. Before I could make it all the way into there, however, the sound of the doorbell ringing echoed through the entire house.

I rolled my eyes and slowly made my way to the door, a smile still etched onto my mouth.

"Hi, my name is Susan and I'm with Child Protection Services. Are you Devonne Lovato?"

My mouth dropped in shock and I quickly nodded my head, "Uh, yeah, that's me."

"Do you mind if I take a look around?"

"Not at all."
