So much packing. Moving is no joke. Im staying with an old friend in her upstate apartment, it's a touch early but what the hell I need to get out of this place pronto. The rundown apartment building has me paying greater than a few nights stay at a hotel for a one room box. Ridiculous i know, but not anymore. She offered me to stay, at first I was skeptical, I'll be staying for two weeks at least so I can find another place.

Most of my things are going in storage I'm only taking the personal things. Kiera and I don't have good history but she's seemed to have changed from the girl she was when we were kids which says a lot.

Kiera runs her own clothing line and she makes bank. This being one of the reasons I was skeptical, I don't need to feel like I must rely off of her. "Kat hurry the hell up girl you're barely carrying anything." Kiera yelled.

"B-But this box is heavy." I whine. She looks at me as if I'm stupid then persisted to type on her phone.

All this continued for like two hours until finally all my things were settled into the apartment — wait no penthouse. It was big and costly, I knew Kiera had money but I didn't know she had this much. As you walk in you're met with the massive living space.

The kitchen was headed off to the left and it was just as spacious as everything else

The kitchen was headed off to the left and it was just as spacious as everything else. "You like?" Kiera asks as she enters the residing area where I stood. I just gaped at the scenery.

"Like? Girl I love it— I mean like how in the world do you afford this." I laugh. "It's gorgeous." I grab her and hug her tight as a thank you.

"So you go unpack and when you're done we can go out to eat, yeah?" I nod my head, she walks off as I advance back to the room im staying in.

The room itself was magnificent I've never seen anything like it a day in my life. It was white with huge windows that stood wide open, It also had hints of Grey and brown, and the floor boards were a deep dark brown. Alternatively the whole room together was bigger than my whole apartment.

My family was never near wealthy but we got by. They currently stay a state over and occasionally call to check up on me. If I was to tell them I was staying with Kiera they'd undoubtedly make me pack my bags and move back home.

Given that, I start to unpack my bags when my phone rings. I take it out of my pocket to see it's my mom. I answer the call. "Hi mommy." I greet.

"Hey baby, how are you?" She asked.

"I'm doing fine, how about you and pops?"

"We're good, but because of his condition he had to have another surgery. Right now, he's laid up in the hospital bed being a pain in my ass." She grumbled. I dread to hear about how my dad had to undergo another surgery yet again for his coronary artery disease. His illness is incurable and life-long, so right now we're just trying to keep him healthy. Lately he's actually gotten worse from what I've gathered, my mom attempts to not tell me anything so I won't stress, yet it's in a real sense all I stress over.

"Don't say that momma." I chuckle with sadness clear in my tone. "C-Can I speak to pops?" I hear a small sigh before there's chuffing in the background.

"Ah my little baby." He sounds so tired.

"H-Hey pops Whats up, how are you feeling?"

"I'm good don't worry. You get use to the pain after while." He laughed but i only sniffled as the tears began to roll down my cheeks in hot wet trails. "Honey don't worry, I'm actually getting a lot better, so by the time Christmas rolls around I'll be feeling much better." Lie.

"Okay. Have you heard anything from the others?" I have seven siblings but only two of us actually check up on our parents or visit from time to time. The others are too good to even make sure their parents are still alive. I'm the youngest my oldest sister always hated me. She is the devil's spawn. Literally.

"Uh no sorry—Mr. Mrs.Cole— oh I'm sorry honey we'll have to talk to you later the doctors here. Love you."

"Love you." Soon as it flys out of my mouth, my dad hangs up. I look up to see that the sun had gone down a little. I get up from my place on the bed and start unpacking again. I start with the bathroom first, putting all of my essentials where they belong. Then I moved to the walk-in closet and put all of my clothes and shoes where they belong.

I spent an hour putting everything away and at last had time to rest.

Knock Knock

Soon as I was going to take a shower, a knock was heard at the door. I groaned as I walked to the door and opened it up. "Hey girl, are we still going out to eat?" Kiera asked. Kiera was fairly tall or maybe I was just too short. I'm 5'4 and compared to her I'm an ant basically. She looked like a gorgeous model with her dark brown skin and grey eyes.

"Yeah I'll get ready." She smiles wide.

"Good be ready in thirty, wear something pretty."She laughs.

I nod before closing the door, heading to my closet to get an outfit. After a few seconds I chose a white mini dress that was a little too short but whatever. It had a long V going all the way down past my cleavage, spaghetti straps, and it cling to me like a glove.

I walked to my bathroom and had a ten minute shower. Afterwards I put on my vanilla scented lotion and black lace panties, then got dressed. I paired my dress with my white heels and a light jean jacket.

I grab my phone and purse before heading out of the room. As soon as I step foot in the living room Kiera eyes rake over me. "You look great girl, and thick." She winks referring to my hips, I had a sightly flat stomach and a nice ass however I do sometimes get a little insecure when I'm around Kiera. See she is beautiful in every way and me being side by side to her makes my mind turn It's back on me.

"Thanks, you do too." She wore a red silky short dress with her diamond studded louboutin's.

We headed straight out the door. We took Kiera's Mercedes Benz and road out to into the city. It was night out, Kiera just kept singing songs horribly might I add but I kept my mouth closed from being unapologetically rude.

"So what restaurant are we going to?" I asked trying to make conversation.

"This one." She points to the big lit place we drove towards. My eyes go wide at the look of the luxurious place it seemed that all Kiera is now is grand.

As we park I look around at all the expensive cars that surround the place. "Trust me you're gonna like it." She exclaimed as we got out of the car. "Oh and I forgot to mention we're having some people join us."

I nod my head, we walk in where a worker greets us. Kierra tells them someone's name that were supposed to meet. The worker nods her head and begins to walk us to the back, I notice the farther we go the farther the scenery dies until there was no one. The worker opens one of the double doors that led us to a secluded area, she walked us over to the table where two male figures sat. They both sat leaning back in their chair head down into their phones.

"Here's your table. I'll have someone come back to take your drink orders." We nodded in unison before the waiter walked off.

One of the men look up from their phone as we sat down. "Kiera." The man nods her way with an emotionless facial expression. He looked quite well off from what I can see. "This your friend?"

"Yes sir." She says in a whisper.

The man hums then elbows his friend so that he'd look up from his phone. Soon as the man looks up and puts the phone down my breath hitched. He nodded to Kiera before turning to me and locking eyes.

Holy mother of God.
