"Mary's diner." He gasps as we park the car in front of the building.
Mary the lady that owns the store is good friends with Isaiah and I. I first took Isaiah here when he was five and around that time Mary and her husband were struggling to keep the place up and running. They have seven kids, 4 are two sets of twins.
I wanted to help out so I bought the place and renovated it. Now the place is just how Mary dreamed it would be, business here is off the charts. After I helped them Mary and her husband wanted to repay me but I told them it's fine but them being the kind people they are they decided to give me and whoever I bring free meals, so this became Isaiah and I's occasional special spot.
I get out the car and walk around to the back where Isaiah sat in a booster seat. I opened the door just as he had pulled off his seat belt. As he jumps out he grabs my hand.
I close the door and we walk hand in hand into the diner. When we entered it was a small amount of people. Well they just opened so that's expected. I look down and see Isaiah jumping up and down in joy which puts a big smile on my face.
I hear a big gasp and turned to see Mary looking at us with wide eyes. "OH DIOS MÍO!" She screeched before speed walking toward us.
I chuckle as she yanks me into a hug. "Oye Mary."
She pulls back and dips down to hug Isaiah. "Bebé Isaiah." When she moved I caught a glimpse at her big stomach.
"Wait Mary you...pregnant — again." I look at her in shock. Mary's 34 and pops out kids like it's nothing.
She try's to get up but fails so I hold her sides so she won't fall as she stands. "Sí, that idiota over there can't keep it in his pants so now I'm seven months pregnant with a boy again."
Goddamn.
"Damn lady I don't see how you do it." I shake my head. As we catch up I spot the second to oldest Mario come strolling in from the back. He sets a plate in front of a man then looks up where he catches his mother then me. I chuckle as his eyes widen, immediately he runs to the back. Seconds later it was as if the ground shook because a stampede of kids came running in from the back.
Next thing I know I'm in a huge group hug.
"Tío Killian!"
"Where have you been."
"Han pasado seis meses, seis meses!" (It's been six months, six months!)
"Xiomara deja de tirar de mi maldito cabello." (Xiomara stop pulling my damn hair.)
"Ok, okay, off you rugrats." I push them off. "And you Vito stop cursing in front of your mother boy." I glare at him.
