It's been going on two weeks and Kataleya's been more than distant. Sense her fathers passing two weeks ago she kept me at bay; for instance, sense she bought her apartment months ago she's only stayed there probably about five times. She practically lives here and when she's gone it doesn't feel the same.

These past two weeks she's been staying at her apartment. She comes by everyday to be with Isaiah and she comes on the weekends per contract commands but other than she's not here and doesn't speak to me.

She doesn't smile like she use to, it's like a dim light is set over her head. I want to comfort her and be there but she pushes me away with 'I'm fine'. Deep down I know for a fact she's hurting and it kills me.

Today's her fathers funeral and I plan to be there for her. I'm actually walking up to her door as we speak. Isaiah is with Mary. I knocked on the door and I heard shuffling before the door flew open and a beautiful looking Kataleya stood before me, but her red eyes and bags under them I knew she was tired and had been crying. She wore a slightly tight black dress with black heels.

She choked up as she looked up at me with wide eyes. "Hey Leya."

"Killian." She said nonchalantly. "What are you doing here?"

"I just wanted to be there for you today, I knew you dads funeral was today."

"Well uh okay."

"Need a ride?"

"Yeah I just need to get my things. Come in I haven't cleaned so don't judge."

She stepped to the side as I walked into her place. She scurried to the back. I looked around and to say the least the place was a wreck. Clothes were on the floor, plates of slightly eaten food sat on the coffee table, a blanket sat on the sofa as well as a pillow.

When I walked to her room it looked spot less, even the bed looked as if it hadn't even been slept in. While she was distracted getting her things I choice this time to ask her a question seeing as she would give me a honest answer sense she isnt thinking at the moment.

"Hey Leya you've been sleeping in your bed right?"

She grabbed a small jacket. "Uh no the couch."

I scrunched up my face, but chose to say nothing sense it's not the day. When she was ready we left her apartment driving out of state to Kataleya's hometown where her dads funeral is held. Through the whole ride she was tense with short responses when I talked to her. She never made direct eye contact with me.

As we slowed down the car to park I noticed her breathing became shallow. I placed my hand on his thigh and stroked her bare skin to soothe her. She relaxed a little, then got out the car in which I followed her.

I came around the car and grabbed her hand as we walked into the small church. He mother immediately walked up to us with red eyes and engulfed Leya into a tight hug I think they both needed at the moment.

Her mom pulled away then turned to me. "Thank you Killian for coming and for taking care of my baby."

She hugged me tight and I embraced her before we both pulled away. "It's no problem Ms.Cole. Kataleya means a lot to me I'll always be there for her."

At this Kataleya snapped her head my way. She just looked at me deep in thought as I saw tears brim her eyes before she wiped them away.

"Uh yeah momma let's go sit down." Ms.Cole nodded before she led us to our seats.

I respectfully sat a row behind Kataleya  knowing the front row is reserved for close family. I gave her shoulder a tight squeeze and she placed her hand in mine.

When the ceremony started there were words from the preacher and the choir sung. When it got down to speeches Kataleya's siblings stepped up to the podium one by one and spoke kindly about their father but by the way Leya scoffed I knew they were leaving a major part out.

After Leya's momma went it was her turn. She stepped up to the podium head low, when she looked up her eyes were red and her hand was shaking.

"Um there's not much to say. Everybody loved him, from his beautiful smile to the way he made fun of me." She chuckled sadly. "I was a daddies girl so he was my all. He tried to make everyone around him smile." She looked at her mother who was slightly sobbing holding a piece of tissue to her eyes. "I remember when he and momma use to get in arguments and they both used that time to be petty only for an hour. He would be like 'Princess go tell your momma I'm about to leave and see what she do' and me being me I did. At the end of the day they would be huddled up on the couch enjoying each other's company. My dad gave his all to his family though they only gave him ten percent of there love, but no matter how bad they treated him he still made the effort to call them all at the end of the day. Even if they didn't answer he'd tell himself at least he tried. So I'm happy he got to take his last breathe with the women who kept it flowing all these years." She sighed and sniffed. "I just want to say I love you daddy forever and always you will always be my first love."

When she got down she wiped the stray tear that fell down her face. When she sat back down she reached over her shoulder in search of my hand and I gladly placed it in hers. When it was time to see the cascade the choir sung again. The front row was first to go so they stood up. "Killian I can't go up there without you." Her eyes pleaded me.

"It's okay hun go with her please." Her mother told me.

I nodded then stood up from my chair. I excused myself out of the isle then walked up to her reaching for her hand. She placed her in mine, as we walked up to the casket I felt her body shake. I held her close once we were hovering over his casket.

I looked at him and saw every bit of Kataleya from his dark brown skin to his nose. I heard Leya release a quiet sob. "It's okay baby." I kissed her head.

She immediately turned around and clung to me as she sobbed into my dress shirt. We began to walk back to our seats and Leya wouldn't let go so I walked her with me to my seat and she sat in my lap with her head in the crook of my neck.

It was thirty minutes before the ceremony ended, then forty minutes went passed as they lowered him into the ground. When everything was said and done we were headed to the car. Her family were having a small gathering at her moms house but she didn't want to go saying and I quote 'I'm not going to a gathering where we talk about our best memories of him when 95% of them didn't give a fuck when he was alive.'

So we were in the car heading back to my house as we speak. When we arrived she was sleep so I carried her inside and up to my room and into my bed. She's never slept in my room before which is really surprising seeing as she practically lives here.

I watched her shift on her side. I pulled her heels off her small feet and then went into my closet grabbing one of my T-shirt's, I took her dress off and place the T-shirt over her head. Laying her back on the bed I ran my hand up and down her arms then down her stomach. I suddenly felt lite thumps against her stomach making me move my hands

The fuck.

I put my hand back on her stomach and rubbed it again. This time the thumbs were fast making me snatch my hand back.

What the fuck?
