Ushijima's POV.
He was fast asleep on top of me, and I was watching TV when Rin hopped up on the couch. I reached over, and he licked my hand as I ran my fingers through his fur. A knock sounded at the door, startling Oikawa awake.
"Were you expecting someone?" I asked quietly.
"Not that I remember, no," Oikawa replied in a hushed tone. "I'll go check." He leaned up, giving me a longing kiss like it was goodbye. I bit his bottom lip before he pulled away and got up. I watched him walk cautiously towards the front door.
When he was there, he glanced back at me. His eyes were frantic, and I could only guess one reason why. He thought his kidnappers were back. His shaky hand gripped the door, turning the knob and opening up. He stumbled back slightly, and I was up on my feet in a split second.
"I-Iwa! What are you doing here? And with Tendo!" Oikawa asked frantically. "Whatever it was, I had no part in it, I swear!"
"That just makes you sound even more guilty," Iwaizumi said nonchalantly as he stepped into the room. He closed the door behind Tendo, locking it. I stiffened as the red head noticed me in the apartment.
"Ushiwaka," he teased. "I thought you said he didn't like you." He had a giant smile on his face, and his voice was set on teasing mode. "What's this?" He gestured around, then to Oikawa, and finally to me.
"Yes, do explain, Shittykawa," Iwaizumi demanded, crossing his arms for effect.
"Uhm, uh, well...you see...uh..." Oikawa searched for the right words to explain to his friend, but nothing came out of it. Iwaizumi blinked in surprise at the boy. Oikawa was one of those unique, remarkable people who always knew what to say. Whether it was for the good, for the bad, or simply just stating facts.
"Geez, don't break his brain. Look. His whole face is beet read and steaming. You broke him," Tendo huffed.
"Oikawa," I called. His eyes snapped to me, and I nodded. He took a deep breath, his skin turning its normal shade. He gave his own nod before staring Iwaizumi in the eye. It took Iwaizumi by surprise.
"We're dating." His cheeks turned a light red, but he kept his composure. It took a moment before Iwaizumi and Tendo doubled over in laughter. Oikawa retreated to my side. I wrapped my arm around his shoulders, pulling him closer. He hid his beet red face in my side.
"We know," Iwaizumi said, calming down a bit. He opened one eye to look up at me and his captain, and he left his right eye closed. I turned my head, kissing my brunette's mop of hair.
"How did you know?" I asked, looking out of my peripheral vision to observe them carefully.
"You made it quite obvious in the store, Ushiwaka," Tendo smirked.
"I was protecting him," I defended.
"And getting really jealous when he acknowledged girls who were hitting on him."
"It wasn't safe to linger when I...we haven't gotten rid of his kidnappers yet."
"They're in jail. Did you forget the cops that helped us?"
"Then he was flirting back."
"That's jealousy, my friend," Oikawa said. It was slightly muffled by my side, but it was audible. I huffed, not able to justify anymore. I was obviously jealous, and there was no way I could hide the fact that I was.
I disliked his fangirls because I would start feeling he needed someone better than me. I wanted him. He was mine, and I'm not sharing him with anyone.
"Oh, Ushiwaka," Tendo sighed dramatically. "You're growing up so fast." He faked a sniffle. I rolled my eyes at the drama.
"So what are you two doing here again?" Oikawa asked, turning his face to look at them.
"Oh yeah." Tendo retreated to Iwaizumi's side, draping his arm over the ace's shoulder. "You're not the only new couple." The ginger kissed his partner's temple gingerly.
"We are not competing on who can keep a make out going the longest," Iwaizumi denied, rolling his eyes.
"Aww...but, Baby," Tendo insisted. "It'll be fun."
"Not with my best friend. That's just weird."
"My best friend is in here, too." Iwaizumi sighed in defeat, allowing Tendo to attach his mouth to the skin of his neck. Oikawa just chuckled.
"My poor best friend. You will be missed. Cause of death: defying his boyfriend," Oikawa laughed. My eyes blinked down to his hair. I kissed his hair gently. "I can only imagine what Kunimi would say: "Are you going to have a few foursomes?"" Iwaizumi burst into laughter.
"That would make my day," he laughed. Oikawa joined the laugh. It was a nice blend. Almost perfect.
"I wouldn't be able to handle that much," Oikawa said.
"Well...you have enough stamina. You'll be just fine."
"So do you," Oikawa winked. Iwaizumi rolled his eyes and shook his head with an amused sigh.
"Only you, Captain."
