As delightful as what just happened earlier, now, vanishes in thin air and fills the room with a thick, awkward atmosphere.
Yeonjun cleared his throat and looked away, standing upright in a stiff motion. Soobin, meanwhile, is wiping his , now, dry tears and ruffled his own hair to busy himself. He ran his eyes in the floor and saw the latter's bottle.
He grabbed it and stood up, nudging Yeonjun feebly.
"Uh, here. Thanks for letting me drink from it. Again. I guess," he looked everywhere around the room and avoided the older's gaze at all costs. Yeonjun, then, took his container back and sent a curt nod to the boy. Putting it in his bag at the corner of the room, he sighs at the sudden change of mood.
He turns around and says, "Let's, um, practice?" Soobin snapped out of his thoughts and nodded, his response shorter than what he usually does, "Sure."
The taller one stiffly moves towards the grand piano at the side of the room, sitting down on the long, brown, wooden seat. He signaled for the other to come and join him so that they can start thinking what they are going to perform.
"So, what's our plan? What do you want to perform?" Yeonjun initiated the question, sitting a bit too far from Soobin, still awkward from what he did earlier. Soobin pondered for a while with his elbow propped up on the piano, making an unpleasant sound but nonetheless, supporting his chin by his hands.
"How about a contemporary piece? I heard you dance well," he proposed.
"Hm, that's actually not that bad of an idea but I'm not sure if I can pull off that genre. I usually do hiphop dancing and such," Yeonjun replies as he glances over to the thinking boy beside him, his eyebrows furrowed with lips that formed into a pout.
"I can't think of anything anymore. I mean, if this piano can play electronic notes then, I'm totally fine with you dancing to it," Soobin chuckles and shows his bunny-like smile, a sight that you can see once in a blue moon, and Yeonjun is glad to see the younger smiling so beautifully.
"Here, how about this," Soobin listens attentively. "Since I obviously can't hiphop dance with a piano, we'll do contemporary dance."
"Exactl— no, wait, what did you say again? We?" Soobin asked to clear his misunderstandings, which are unfortunately right, to the taller's dismay.
"Yes. We. Me and you together, will dance to contemporary music."
Soobin can't believe what he is hearing right now. He pointed slowly to Yeonjun, in which he older nodded, and brought his pointer finger back to him, questioning himself if he's the one Yeonjun is talking about. The other laughs at Soobin's cute behavior, according to him.
"But I can't dance wel—"
"Keep on lying, sweetie. I think I saw an interesting thing or two last weekend," Yeonjun cut him off and batted his non-existent eyelashes at Soobin, who looked as if his soul escaped his body.
"No, you did NOT see that. Oh my god, that's so fucking embarrassing. Why do I keep forgetting to keep the curtains shut," the older laughed once again at the younger's mental breakdown.
The latter, now, plants his face onto the piano keys, which made a low and booming sound, reflecting the agony and embarrassment that Soobin is experiencing right now.
He shoots up immediately as he thought of a possible conflict with their performance.
"How can I play the piano and dance at the same time, though? Should I, like, cut off half of my body to do that?" Yeonjun rolled his eyes with a smile on his face, adoring on how dumb this personified bunny was.
"We can pre-record the piano when your dancing part comes in and talk about it to the staffs," he raises his eyebrow, seeking for approval.
"Oh, yeah, right. That makes sense. You better give me something in return for this shit. I can't even dance that well," he retorts with a pout, crossing his arms in front of his chest.
Yeonjun giggles, "Sure thing, Bin. Just say anything you want to do or want to buy, I'll gladly comply. In one condition," he states to the intrigued boy.
"I can only grant one wish of yours so, choose wisely, okay?" He smiles sickeningly sweet at Soobin, seemingly mocking the other that just sighed and agreed to what Yeonjun proposed to him.
They now discussed on what musical piece that they are going to perform. Soobin played a bunch of various melodies and notes as they carefully decided as to what they are going to play for the festival.
Yeonjun suddenly exclaimed, surprising Soobin who just smashed the piano keys out of shock, creating an unpleasant sound. He frowned and glanced over by his side to see Yeonjun scratching his nape out of embarrassment.
"I'm sorry. I thought the one that you played just now was really nice and I can totally think and plan the steps immediately. Can you play it again?" Soobin smiled softly and nodded.
He proceeds to press on the white, ivory keys gently, creating such delicate and delightful sounds. His giant and veiny hands glides through the keys swiftly, not missing a single note even though he is a tad bit nervous to play in front of Yeonjun.
The said male, meanwhile, is admiring at how the younger plays the piano with excellence, his eyes closed shut, feeling and playing the notes skillfully and soulfully.
Staring at Soobin's perfectly sculpted figure, he scoots closer to him, ever so softly. He gently put his hand onto the younger's, making the music abruptly stop. Soobin looks down on Yeonjun's small hands on top of his large ones and glances over to Yeonjun with a blush creeping up his cheeks.
"I never knew you were this outstandingly great at piano. Don't you want to show it to bigger audiences?" He looks at Soobin's eyes filled with awe while the taller smiled sadly.
"I don't think I would want to show it to the crowd. I just stayed at school until late afternoon and practiced, played and observed how it works. My parents were never supportive with these kinds of things as they want the stereotypical aspects of talents that most guys have like sports," he shrugged as he felt the older's thumb slowly caressing his smooth and soft hands, feeling sympathetic towards the younger.
"Well, after this performance, a lot of people will know, including my dad. He'll probably scold and beat me around at home after that and my mom would be disappointed," Soobin holds Yeonjun's hand tightly without breaking eye contact.
"But, hey, at least I'm performing it with you, right? I'll just enjoy the performance and hope for the best," he beamed and showed his cute bunny teeth, assuring the other that he would be fine despite the growing anxiety within him.
"You did a great job holding yourself up all throughout these years, Soobin. I admire you for that," Yeonjun smiles and brings his hand up to ruffle the other's fluffy and smooth hair. Soobin closes his eyes adorably as he purred in comfort.
He's never been experienced having someone to tell him that he did great and he's glad that , finally, someone acknowledged his interest and talent. And that, that someone is Choi Yeonjun.
