Hearing the chimes resonate throughout the cafe, Hueningkai snaps his head to the door and sees a blondie and a brunette. He smiles widely as he's glad to see his best friends in his boring ass workplace but it slowly faded as he saw the two hand in hand with a slight blush on their cheeks. The older two beamed at Hueningkai  and waved at him, not noticing the slight change of mood of the boy.

"Hey Hyuka! My instincts kicked in and figured that you might be on your shift today. Seems like I was right," Beomgyu stated with his shoulders held high in meaningless pride making the other two chuckle.

"Don't mind him. He just made and lost a stupid ass bet so he's trying to redeem himself," Taehyun jumped in and laughed as he felt the older's piercing gaze on his peripheral vision. Hueningkai laughed along as he saw Beomgyu pout, making him look cute, and proceeded to take their orders.

Sitting opposite of each other at the far corner side of the cafe, they await their said drinks to be served while chatting comfortably with each other. In a span of 3 minutes, they shared their interesting stories and some of their dirty little secrets, whispering softly to each other and bursting into laughter the next second.

"Come on! My kindergarten classmate was cute, okay? I would never not k—," Beomgyu was cut off when they saw a tall silhouette by the table who was holding their drinks. They both beamed and ushered Hueningkai to take a seat beside Taehyun. Tension was felt between the two despite them being besties for life.

The older two drank their drinks the first thing that it arrived. After taking a sip, it took seconds for them to reassess the flavor and soon, indulging into the bittersweet beverage of their own. Hueningkai rests his chin on the palm of his hand and looks at two of his best friends, gazing at Beomgyu fondly who was sipping on his straw with furrowed eyebrows, groaning in delight.

Now stopping drinking for a conversation to start, Beomgyu speaks up. "Can't believe you're still working on a Saturday. Doesn't it stress you out for even a bit?," Hueningkai shrugs and smiles as the latter gazes at him intently, making a light blush creep up on his cheeks, but nonetheless, continues to answer the asked question.

"Well, it's tiring of course. No shit on that but I really need some extra income, you know? Managing schoolworks and this is stressful but there's nothing I can do about it," he scratches his nape, revealing the scars nears his pulse which didn't go unnoticed by the two.

"Ningning, what happened to your arm? I have never seen it before. Did you cover it up at school by any chance?," Taehyun looked at the youngest fondly while holding his shoulder, his thumb running up and down in a cycle. Hueningkai looks down in embarrassment as he forgot to put concealer on the said scar today and swears in his head.

"Ah, nevermind. It's okay! You can just say it whene—,"

"I was actually involved in a fire accident when I was an infant back in Hawaii," he cuts off Taehyun and continued. "We didn't know the cause of the fire as it happened suddenly. We were even cautious about fire hazards as Hawaii is considered a warm place," he looks at his scar and unknowingly caresses it softly with his thumb.

"I didn't even remember that much that time and groundless thoughts circled in my mind as I try to know as to why it all turned upside down at that moment," Hueningkai beams a smile brighter than everything that this world could offer and looks at Beomgyu and Taehyun, whose eyes are wide like saucers.

"I'm sorry I asked about that, Huening. I knew you had a reason to hide it from us and I just poked my nose into it," the blonde man apologizes and Beomgyu follows up with a question. "Is that why you're with your grandmother right now?" Taehyun glares and slaps the brunette's arm a bit too much, making him yelp slightly, telling that they should drop the topic instead with his eyes alone.

Hueningkai giggled and answered the curious man. "Yeah, she's the only one I've got in my life right now and I'm helping with paying her medical expenses by working part time," Beomgyu nodded slowly and gestured a zip closing in his mouth, looking away. The action made the other two laugh heartily and continued to chat more about themselves.

"I wonder what the other two are doing. Hoped they enjoyed the ice cream that we bought for them," Taehyun brought up the happenings earlier, making Beomgyu's ears jerk up at the mention of the two older men. "I still can't believe my art skills failed me," he looks down dejectedly as Taehyun scoffed and chuckled, teasing the older.

"As if there was in the first place," he 'pft-ed' in disagreement with a mocking smile on his face as Beomgyu, on the other hand, looked offended and reasoned out. "Hey! Don't forget that I contributed more to out painting. You literally just ruined the whole thing, you know," he rolled his eyes and the other two laughed their asses off, a piercing dolphin laugh resonating around the cafe, finding the brunette adorable.

"Who did you guys make a bet with?," Hueningkai asked as he wiped the corners of his eyes, still chuckling a little. "None other than the cringey and cliche ass soon-to-be couple, Choi Yeonjun and that tall ass Choi Soobin," Beomgyu grimaced jokingly as he mentioned his friend's name, his face contorted in disgust.

Interestingly enough for Hueningkai, he concluded that we really live in a small world and shared his encounter with the latter two. "You guys also bumped into each other? They actually came here earlier just before lunch," he stated in surprise that such coincidences can happen in real life. Taehyun replied, "Really? What'd they do here? Anything sus?" Beomgyu nodded in agreement and stared intently at the youngest.

"I'm suspecting that they kissed just right there at the other side of the room. Yeonjun suddenly stood up and went closer to Soobin but I didn't see much because of the angle of where I was standing earlier," Beomgyu and Taehyun both had their eyes and mouth widen but soon turned into crescents and covered their mouths in suspicion.

"That's pretty sus, not gonna lie, but damn! Yeonjun's a changed man. He was all shy and collected at first and we didn't know he has this side of him!," Taehyun exclaimed all giddy and in awe of  Yeonjun's sudden character development. "Soobin's been getting some rad shit! When will I get mine," Beomgyu said dramatically, fake crying for an added touch.

"You're acting like you didn't peck me square on my lips, you idiot," Taehyun rolled his eyes and giggled as the older instantly turned red and tried to form sentences but to no avail. "T-that's a foul. Fuck you," he crosses his arms in front of his chest and looks away. "Fuck you too," the blonde man cutely replied, shooting flying kisses to the latter mockingly.

Meanwhile, Hueningkai stares at the two who were seemingly happy with each other's presence. He put up a bitter smile and laughed with them as he said an excuse for him to leave the table.

"Ah, I think they might need some help right now. I'll get back to work, okay? You two enjoy!," Hueningkai abruptly said, making his friends have no chance to reply back. Beomgyu and Taehyun looked confused to the change of demeanor but they understood that the boy needed to work and nodded.

They hurriedly wished good luck for the youngest who was now experiencing unexplainable emotions of bitterness and a slight hint of jealousy.
