Chapter 6: Dynamax Frenzy

Ash and Pikachu followed behind Peony for approximately 15 minutes.

He then saw that Peony stopped in front of a cave. 

"Aha! This must be the Max Lair that Nia was talking about. Which means my darlin' daughter is in there right now, havin' a giggle with some rare Dynamax Pokemon!" Peony muttered.

Peony then turned back and saw Ash and Pikachu. He then smiled at them and waved, "Oh, it's you again! Did you follow me? Well, maybe you ought to come as well!"

Ash and Pikachu looked at each other, before walking towards Peony, who turned back towards the "Max Lair" he is talking about.

Peony pumped his fists, "Right! Just you hold on, Nia, my dear! Here comes Papaaa!"

Peony recklessly charged towards the cave, making Ash and Pikachu sweatdrop.

'...This seems familiar' Ash thought before sighing and following Peony.

Ash and Pikachu were walking while viewing around the area. It was just like a mineshaft. Various rocks and fossils were found everywhere, and what kept this place bright were the lights that were attached into the ceilings. 

Furthermore, various fences covered the area, to block people from touching the walls. It was a perfect representation of a tourist location.

"Please, sir! I can't let you-" A voice said.

Ash and Pikachu looked back up towards the front, seeing a woman in a lab coat, stopping Peony from crossing.

Peony simply put his shoulders on his hips. "Oh, but I think you can! My precious daughter's in there, and I'm goin' in after her!"

"I understand, sir, but-"

The lab coat girl was interrupted, "But what?!"

Peony pumped his fists again, but not out of joy this time, "I'm here to have an adventure, and I want to kick it off right now!"

The other person shook her head, "I simply can't allow it, sir!"

"Grrr!" Peony grunted.

Ash walked towards Peony, "Hey Peony." He said.

Peony turned his head towards Ash, "Oh, there you are, lad! So you've come after all, have you?"

Ash nodded, before getting straight to the point, "Something the matter?"

Peony began to explain the situation, "Yes! Everythin's the matter! This ultra-mega-numpty of a scientist insists of gettin' in my way!"

The scientist made an angry face, "'Numpty of a-' I beg your pardon, sir!"

"If you'd be so good as to simply listen, I could let you through!" She continued to vent. "Dynamax Adventures are quite fraught with peril, I'm afriad, and-"

Peony interrupted again, "Gaaah! I've got no patience for standin' here listenin' to you rattle off the fine print!"

"Sigh..." The scientist was exhausted form talking, "We're just going round in circles."

The scientist then turned to Ash, "You seem to know this gentleman. Would you simply listen to my explanation?"

"If so, then I could allow the two of you to enter as a pair." The scientist suggested.
