ASHLEY'S POV
I woke up to the sound of Danny's alarm going off , she didn't seem to hear it she fell asleep just after 4 am when she finally managed to stop crying , i reached over and turned it off and got out from under the covers going to the bathroom to shower i decided i would let her sleep inn for a bit since she must be exhausted. I started the shower and got undressed getting in once the water was hot enough. I closed my eyes and let the warm water cascade down my body but i jumped when i felt Danny's body against mine i didn't hear her get in , once my racing heart calmed down i wrapped my arms around her and held her trembling figure.
"You okay baby?" i asked as i stroked her hair.
"I feel better , i'm sorry about last night" she said as she held onto me a little tighter it was like she was scared i would disappear if she let go .
"Do you want to tell me what happened" i asked running my fingertips up and down her back.
"I don't really know i guess i was just scared "
"Scared of what baby?"
"I was scared that you would be gone when i woke up and that i would be back with them again and that all of that would've just been a dream " she answered i could hear the genuine fear in her voice as she spoke and it made my heart ache.
"Baby look at me" i said as i raised her chin so she would look into my eyes.
"I'm right here , and they can't hurt you anymore. I'm not going anywhere okay?"
"I know and i'm sorry"
"Don't be sorry it's okay" she nodded and pecked my lips and we both finished up in the shower getting out and getting ready for the day . Hazel is not going to school since she's sick so it's just the boys.
Danny went to their rooms to wake them up and i went to Hazel's room to check on her. I knocked on her door and opened it when i heard her give me permission i didn't think she would be up yet.
"Hi baby bug how are you feeling?" i asked sitting down on her bed feeling her forehead she was slightly warmer than i would've liked but not too bad.
"I'm okay my nose is a little stuffy and my throat is scratchy and i have a headache but nothing too bad " she answered i hate it when my babies are sick .
"Okay i'll go get your medicine and some breakfast okay?"
"Is there maybe some soup?"
"Yeah momma and i made you some chicken soup i'll grab you some okay?"
"With toast?"
"Yes baby with toast " she smiled and did a little happy dance that made me smile and giggle at her.
"You're cute" i commented and kissed her head leaving to get her food.
After i gave Hazel her breakfast and her medicine i went downstairs to eat with Danny and the boys. After we got them fed and they got ready Danny walked them to her mother's house so she can take them to school and i went back upstairs to check on Hazel and when i went into her room she was sitting up in bed reading. I sat down next to her and she laid her head on my shoulder.
"Is momma doing okay?" she asked .
"She's getting better why do you ask?"
"Because this morning i wanted some Tylenol so i came to your room because i know you keep it in your bathroom cabinet and i knocked on your door but you didn't answer so i thought you were sleeping and when i opened the door i could hear momma crying" i let out a breath knowing i unlocked the door after we had sex so she didn't hear any of that.
"Oh yeah she just had a bad dream that's all"
"Okay " she replied softly.
"Mom?"
"Hmm?"
"Can you sing to me?"
"Of course love bug" i started singing to her and watched as she fell asleep smiling when she did and i remembered all the times i sang them to sleep as babies and how they couldn't fall asleep if i didn't.
DANNY'S POV
I got home a few minutes ago and went upstairs to check on Ash and Hazel and when i walked into Hazel's room i saw her and Ash peacefully sleeping , i smiled at the two of them and covered them in a blanket and went into my office to get some work done before my appointment with doctor Evans. I sighed as i sat down behind my desk i felt the baby kick and smiled she always moves a lot after i went for a walk or moved around a lot and then suddenly sit still, doctor Julia told me she falls asleep when i move because it's like being rocked back and forth so when i sit still she wakes up and moves around and kicks. I held my hand on the spot she just kicked and she kicked there again.
"Hi baby" i cooed as i rubbed my belly.
After that i turned on my laptop and got to work and a few hours later around noon Ash walked into my office rubbing her eyes, i smiled and scooted my chair back and she sat down on my lap and put her head on my shoulder. I moved her hand and put it on my belly where our baby was moving and she smiled into my neck when she felt her small movements .
"I can't wait to meet her" she said and i nodded.
"Me neither baby" i said and kissed her temple.
We stayed like that for a while just basking in each other's presence and enjoying being together.
"I just want to say that i'm sorry again about getting so upset last night" i said and Ash took her face out of my neck and kissed me.
"It's alright baby it'll get better again" i nodded
"I know but it must have freaked you out so i just wanted to apologize"
"Did you at least enjoy it ?" she asked and i nodded.
"You have no idea" i said confidently
"Then i don't care if you cry everytime after i just want you to enjoy it , i want you to be happy and if i have to dry some tears afterward then i'm willing to do that until it stops hurting okay?"
"Thank you for not giving up on me " i said as i felt my eyes glaze over with tears.
"I would never give up on you i love you way too much to do that" Ash replied and i nodded laying my head on her chest.
"I love you too baby" i said and she kissed my head and we went back to just sitting in silence it was comfortable and i felt content knowing i was loved.
