345 days. That was how many days ago Quinn and Louis had seen each other. Their hope had slowly but surely been deteriorating.
So walking down the road towards the flower shop, Quinn wasn't too hopeful. The idea of the boy was still prominent so if there was the small chance of him being there, she knew exactly what she was looking for.
The door opened slowly for the small shop and the familiar floral smell was incredibly comforting. Not taking a glance any direction, Quinn walked over to the counter to Flora.
'Quinn! You're back!' Flora hurried around the counter to lightly hug the teenagers. The mother and daughterly bond that they had was something that they had always been able to maintain even if they were miles away was incredible.
'Flora! How are you?' she grinned at the touch of the older woman, a light patter of feet heard in the background moving around a shelf.
'I'm doing well dear, I've got to pop round the back so just hang around here until I'm back' Flora knew exactly what she was doing when she saw a boys head pop up over one of the shelves.
It was so alarmingly quick that he didn't realise that he wasn't as short as he imagined, subsequently hitting his head on one of the hanging flower baskets.
'Hello?' Quinn spun round, completely forgetting that she wasn't necessarily the only person in the shop.
Her eyes widened at the sight of the boy who she had been thinking about for so long. It was a shock to both of them to be fair, but more impactful for Louis.
It felt to him as if the weight on his shoulders had been lifted off. After so long of waiting and longing to see her, it had all worked. And he was so happy that after doubting of coming that morning that he actually did, what would've happened if he didn't appear?
'Hi, um, sorry for scaring you' he gave a nervous laugh as the girl moved towards him slightly, it was more awkward if they were opposite sides of the room trying to talk to each other.
'No, no, it's fine. I-, I recognise you from somewhere' Quinn didn't want to directly say that they had met in this shop before and she could pinpoint the exact details of when they met, that would've been weird.
'God this sounds creepy, but we met here last year' he flashed a small smile that Quinn reciprocated, something he was startled by as he thought she would call him creepy for remembering.
'Oh cool, cool' she muttered, moving over to next to him. Slightly awkward was an understatement, two of the most awkward people ever were stood in a room together just trying to not let the other know that they were looking at the other.
Quinn took note that the boy had gotten taller, before he was around 6'4 if she could guess, and he was now a lot taller, maybe 6'6. His hair was still fluffy and she still was seeing the same innocent looking boy who admired the plants.
Louis took note that she had still looked the exact same, her face had matured slightly and she had shot up in height, from about 5'6 to 5'9. She was cute still, still the radiant girl she was before.
'Well, I'm Quinn' the girl stuck her hand out for him to shake, oddly formal coming from a 17 year old, but she was that unsociable she didn't know what to do.
'Louis, my names Louis' he gained a little bit of confidence towards the end, seeing as how friendly she was towards him.
Flora slowly made her way back into the room, a large smile on her face as she saw the two teenagers talking to each other. It was the start of something big in her eyes, even if it took them both longer to realise than what they needed.
