Maddie

I hate myself. I hate them, all of them.

Without us you would be nothing.

"Shut up, you're the reason I'm like this.

I'm the reason you're like this? Stop blaming others to hide your shame.

My jaw clenched and the same pain started to fill every fiber of my body, "It wasn't my fault though."

Oh really? You decided to drink to much. You decided to drive home. You decided to fuck up your little brother's life. YOU did this to Luke, not me.

I sprung up from the bed and punched the steel wall as hard as I could without a single breath or hesitation.

"Shut up," I screeched out, "Shut up! Get out of my head!"

Workers started flooding the room a few minutes later. One holding my bloody fist and other trying to get me to talk, but I kept silence. I was silence, but the voices were louder than ever. I kept blinking rapidly, images of the day that ruined my life flashed in my mind.

It was August 11th, 2012. It was my first day as a senior, but my friends and I decided we were too cool for school so we ditched. We walked to a small corner store near the school and decided we should get drunk behind it. I was only eighteen then, but I thought I was capable of drinking alcohol. One bottle of vodka and two cans of beers later, I could barely keep my eyes open, but I thought I was capable of driving. My parents said that if I forgot to pick up Luke one more time that I wouldn't have a car anymore and I couldn't handle the thought of that. Every girl needs their car. So, I waved goodbye in a drunken state and waddled back to the school to pick up my sophmore little brother. I saw him waiting nervously by my car, I unlocked it so the nerd could get in. I got in the passenger seat and started the car up, wondering if he could smell the vodka stench that lingered on me.

Then at exactly 3:12pm we crashed. I killed my brother's memory and three people that day awith a car and a distorted mind. Now, I'm sitting back in my regular case with a broken hand, the doctors predicted that the solitude's atmosphere only made my sainity worse. I layed in my bed with no sounds except with the usual screaming and voices until a gentle knock was heard upon my glass. It was Michael and he looked terrified. I bounced up from my bed to unlock the door once I saw the sweet boy's face.

"Maddie."

"Hey Mike-"

"Luke is in danger." My heart stopped and I could feel my face pale. I made a vow that even though I caused Luke this trama, I would protect him no matter what happened.

"What's wrong? Where is he?!" Michael shushed me once I began to yell.

"He's next," He said in a shushed voice, "On Dr. Blythe's list."

I went into rage mode again and shoved Michael out of my way, stomping down to the main office in a quick pace. All the guards watched me with a careful eye, but didn't stop me because they know not to fuck with me. Once I got to the lobby, I pounded on the desk impatiently until one of the nurses came.

"I need to see Dr. Blythe. Now."

Luke

I sat on a hospital like bed only with tons of heavy straps on the sides of it. I forget how I got here or even why I'm here, I hope it's for a good reason. A man came out and gave me a worried look which started to make me nervous.

"Luke... Luke Hemmings," He said, reading from a wooden clipboard, "18, amnesia. Even better." He smiled with hints of mischief, I didn't worry about it too much though.

"If you don't mind you asking, but... what am I doing here?"

"I actually do mind you asking. I'll answer you anyway, so you're my next project," He said with a very happy smile.

"W-what project?" My voice started to shake and I gripped on the bed underneath me. He smiled excited and ran over to the curtain next to us, grabbing the fabric tightly.

"Just a little something that I've been working on." He slowly pulled the curtain back, presenting a sight that was disgusting and horrifying. It was a girl that looked familiar, but my mind couldn't remember her name, she was wearing a comedic nurse outfit and a gag so she wouldn't speak. She was covered in blood that was probably her own, trying her hardest to scream, but the gag discontinued the noise. The worst part of all was her legs.

Because she didn't have any. Just two bloody, stitched stubs. He cut her legs off. And now I'm next. The sad thing was that I knew that I wasn't going to remember any of this in a few hours, that fact terrified me.

"This is Kiana," The doctor said while motion towards the now crippled girl, "She happily volunteered for this very important project. Now you get to play a big part in this, Mr. Luke."

"H-how?"

"Your eyes." With that, he went into another room, with an evil smirk across his lips.

I just assumed that I was going to die and honestly I wouldn't mind that much because I'm useless. I can't remember a single thing for more than an hour.
The only thing that is marked on my mind forever is how a drunk driver caused this and how much I hated them for this agony. The impact of the crash was so hard that it messed up a part of brain.
I heard some rattling outside of the room and I stared hesitantly at the door as the knob began to turn. And then there was a blonde girl with crazy eyes that gave off a bad vibe entered the room.

"Luke, c'mon let's go," she whispered out, "Remember you have that.. um thing to do?" I furrowed my eyebrows because I didn't know if she was using my condition against me or I actually have something to do. The girl gasps loudly once she saw the leg less, bloody nurse who was now passed out.
Another door sounded and the doctor was back, he didn't look pleased to her.

"What are you doing here!?"

"Saving my brother!" She attempted to grab ahold of my hand, but I didn't let her. I have a sister? The doctor let out a loud chuckle.

"He'll never go with you after what you have done. what kind if sister are you?"

"What did she do," I asked the doctor curiously, "Was it something bad?"
The doctor walked over to me and handed me a fully loaded pistol with no explanation if it.

"She did this to you."

"No I didn't!"

"She was one that drove you into a car filled with innocent people and fucked up your brain."

"It wasn't my fault! Luke I'm trying to save you!"

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I spent several years through hell, hating my criminal. Turns out my criminal was my sister. The doctor finally motioned to the gun, whispering very softly into your room,

"Kill her."

"What?"
The girl boiled with fear and started to head to the door, trying to escape, but the door was of course locked.
"Shoot her. Make her pay for what she had caused."
the blonde turned around to look me in the eye, she had intense sobs and jumbled words.

"Luke! Please! I'm sorry. So very sorry. That memory will haunt me forever! The voices never fucking shut up! I hate myself! But I made a vow to keep you safe and make sure you stay alive! Luke, don't trust this man I'm your sis-"

Bang.

She immediately collapsed on the floor, dead. Blood oozing from the gun shot in her head, her eyes still open wide, she looked like a ghost.

"I don't have a sister," I said through gritted teeth. An awful silence along with footsteps ran through out the whole entire room.

Bang.
