Taryn

I walked around all the therapy with focused eyes, my eyesight mostly falling on the new girl who looked very terrified by the overall setting. I don't blame her, we have a very strict policy here and being the main therapist and all, I obviously have to enforce it. I watched her body language as she followed the noise-hating tall boy around like a lost puppy. Her name was Clarity Hawkins, I remember because I was the one who diagnosed her with psychosis. It was a shame that I was basically forced to diagnose her with some mental disorder so that she couldn't leave. Her eyes kept falling on our notorious Michael Clifford; I looked over to the poor boy who was in rougher chains and harsh security. It had to be like that for him because he made the decision to be considered as a suicidal danger to himself. I remember the day when I caught him about to take away his life so vividly and it hurts me to look back on that moment.

"Michael... just please... put the blade down... everything's going to be okay," I told him soothingly, trying my hardest to calm the crazed boy down.

"No it's not! You don't understand!" He angrily wiped at his eyes with his empty hand and started to sob out, "You don't know what it's like to be pointed at and laughed at while being locked in a glass cage! I don't want to be crazy! I'm not crazy! This isn't me!"  He started sobbing louder. He already had multiple cuts up his arm, but this time he had the blade pressed against his neck, determined to end it all. But, I was not going to let that happen. He started to cut at his neck and I quickly grab a hold of his arm knocking the sharp object out of his reach.

The memory made me cringe and the sad part was that was only the first time he tried to kill himself. The second time was when he tried to overdose on pills that he talked his clingy companion Maddie into sneaking into the medicine room and getting for him. The third time was when another patient, Luke, caught him trying to hang himself. The tall blonde hair boy cried for days because he thought he lost the only person he could remember, forgetting that we stopped Michael from committing the horrid act.

I decided to start with the B circle today. Only because I wanted to know more about this Clarity girl that just randomly appeared today. I sat down at the main chair which made all of them silent their sounds. I gave them all a caring and welcoming smile, some of them returned the favor, but the new girl did not make a reaction at all. It seems as if she was stuck in thought at the moment.

"Hello everyone, I'm Taryn, for those of you that don't know," I said clearly for them to hear, "Now, let's start with Good Intentions. Who wants to go first?" Good Intentions are basically where one of the patients stand up and say something they did positively and we all thank them. The first person to raise their hand was the only pyromaniac we had in the whole facility, Aliya, "Aliya. How about you start us off?" She stood up with the same wicked grin that always remained on her face.

"I was tempted to cut off all the new girl's pretty blonde hair and burn her eyebrows off, but I didn't!" She announced proudly as if it was a huge achievement. Clarity's eyes widened and she ran her fingers nervously through her long blonde ponytail.

"Well... Let's all thank Aliya for her Good Intention..." I plastered a fake smile on while the rest of the group thanked her and she sat down. I mentally noted that I need to book more conseling sessions with her. Then, Ashton stood up and started to speak.

"I took the oppurtunity to show Clairty around the institute." He mutter quietly yet loudly enough for me to hear. We all thanked him and he sat down with a small smile. I liked Ashton, he was a good kid that was striving to help others and tried his best to keep sane. I noticed that he had a thing for that Maddie girl, which was upsetting because Maddie was nothing but bad news. She was always glued to Michael's side and after the big incident that got her locked up in here spread around and she lost trust from most. But not Ashton, he was convinced she was a perfect angel that was stuck in shadow.

Clarity was the next person in the circle and we all looked at her, waiting for her intention. She slowly stood up and stared at her feet.

"Um... I haven't really done anything yet because I kind of just got here..."

"Well, you did decide to show up for therapy circle. Most new patients tend to skip this event, so let's thank Clarity for participating with us."

We thanked her and after her turn we just continued on. It was pretty boring, but I guess it made them feel better about themselves so I guess it was worth it. I finished table C and started to head towards the security room. It was my shift to watch the patients in the solitude area, it was a sad job and no one wanted it, so we had to take turns with the regular staff. It's watching extremely mentally ill patients all tied up and suffering on a television screen. I sat in the large blue chair and kept watch of the screen, I glanced over all the cameras; one specific camera caught my eye. It was that perky tour guide whose nurse costume was way too short, Kiana and the only good looking security guard we have and also the guy I may or may not have a small crush on, Calum, talking back and forth to each other in the lounge room for the employees. They were just talking for a bit, then Calum started to tug on Kiana's dress in order to pull her closer to him. My eyes widened in jealousy and disgust as they pressed their lips together to begin a heated make out session in an asylum employee lounge. What did he see in her? I understand she was pretty, but her airhead personality and revealing clothes tended to block her charming face. I got up once Calum started getting too handsy with Kiana and started to head down to the area they are at because it was highly inappropriate to be sucking each other's faces in this location and because it hurt me to see Calum to take such quick interest in her when I've liked him for months now.

I approached the door, my face turning in a grimace once I hear Kiana moaning out Calum's name. I planned to just act like I didn't know they were being lustful in there and also act like I'm not envious at all. I took a deep breath and opened the door. They both stopped their actions, turning their heads toward me with their lips swollen and messy hair. I covered my eyes, quickly faking surprise and a apologetic tone.

"Woah! I didn't mean to interrupt I'm sorry-"

"No, Taryn it's fine.." Calum repiled sheepishly. I moved my hands from my eyes and caught him trying to hide the tightness in his pants. Kiana started to button her dress back up with a bright blush on her cheeks. After she finished, she grabbed her stuff, walking right pass me and out the door. Calum sight once he realized she vanished and ran his fingers through his hair in a very attractive way.

"Sorry... I didn't mean to ruin your session..." I said, faking my innocent words. He shook his head and shrugged back.

"It's alrigh-" He was soon interrupted by a buzz from his walkie talkie. He put the device to his ear and his eyes slowly widened in distress. Calum ran out the room, bolting down the hall.

"What happened?!" I shouted out, following his stride.

"Maddie! That's what happened!"

I quickened my pace once he replied and started to get worried as well.

Maddie is at it again.
