After Taryn left, everyone in the circle went back to their psycho selves. Ashton kept glancing back at Maddie every five seconds, but she was too consumed by Michael's prensence. Michael looked like he was on the verge of tears which made my heart ache for him. Just imagining him trying to kill himself was just unbearable.
I don't even know him that well, but I still had care for him. Their counselor finally left their circle and Ashton jumped up and started to walk towards Maddie. I reluctantly followed because he was basically my guide for this mess of an asylum.
"Hi Maddie!" Ashton said to her and she just replied again with the same unamused wave, her eyes locked on green eyed boy.
"Mikey, are you thirsty or cold?"
Ashton frowned once Maddie didn't give him the attention he wanted from her and glared at Michael. Even though, Michael didn't want her attention.
"Just leave me alone," Michael said as the guard started unlocking his cuffs. They started to unlock all of ours, I was pleased once mine were off because they hurt like a bitch. Maddie frowned up at me and crossed her now uncuffed arms. The guards soon left after we were all uncuffed. I guess it was lunch time for them.
"You heard what he said, leave us alone, Cathy," She stood up so she could glare at me properly in the eyes.
"It's Clarity and I don't think he was talking to me," I returned the glare back then glance at Michael, hoping he actually wasn't talking to me.
"Well, he wasn't talking about me!"
"Actually, I was talking about you, Maddie," He gave her an annoyed expression as he stood up as well. She looked at him with distraught as he put his arm surprisingly around my shoulders with a smug smile, "I like Clarity more than you." I wanted to smile, but Maddie was shooting eye daggers at me which frightened me. But that didn't stop Michael from fueling her fury, " She's prettier too."
"That's impossible! No one is prettier than me here!" She whined loudly and stomped her feet childishly, "She's ugly! I'm pretty!" Michael started to back up away from me with a michevious smirk.
"You're hideous, Mads. Just like your personality."
"Michael, shut the fuck up," Ashton growled at Michael, placing a hand on Maddie's shoulder. I watched all of them dumbfound. What is Michael doing? Maddie looks like she's about to explode.
"Isn't that why Luke is scared of you? Because you're ugly or is it because you're the reason he's like that?" He motion towards Luke who was walking around curiously. That's all it took. Maddie growled loudly at Michael and she looked so angry. It was like she transformed in a different person.
"Maddie, please just calm-" Ashton tried to soothe her, but it was too late.
Maddie tackled Michael hard on the ground. She slammed on him so hard that his back made a loud crash. He groaned in pain, but didn't fight back, he just took it. Maddie was scratching and punching at him rapidly with tears in her eyes. I couldn't just stand their and watch Michael get beaten up so I tried to yank Maddie off of him by her feet, but she wouldn't budge. The crazy blonde grabbed a hold of Michael's head, the poor boy gave her a look of pure terror, but it wasn't enough to stop her. She slammed his head into the hard concrete ground and with that, Michael's eyes closed. She still kept clawing at his arms, sobbing loudly. Everybody was staring, but I didn't care, I tried my hardest to pull her off of him and once I succeeded she wasn't please.
"This is all your fault!" She pushed me back once she got on her feet, "I will fucking end you!" She barked and kept pushing me until I was on the ground. I yelped and attempted to fight back, but she was far too strong. Where are the fucking security guards? A therapist? Somebody? Ashton wouldn't even help me, probably because he didn't want to hurt his "angel."
"Get a-away from me!" I shrieked as she got a hold of my foot and she started to twist it harshly. I sobbed out for help and in pain as she just kept twisting my ankle until their was a loud crack that filled the room. I've never screamed louder in my whole life and the worst part is she wouldn't stop. She wouldn't stop twisting or scratching. Her nails were so sharp that blood was dripping down my poor leg due to her scratches. I couldn't move and I didn't want to at this point.
All I could do is cry. The security rushed into the room and ripped Maddie away from my aching body. Taryn kneeled down next to me and started to call my name out, but I couldn't find my voice. I started to get dizzy once I saw my broken and limp foot. I looked up at Ashton as he covered his ears and watched the blonde demon get taken away by the guard. The room was filled with screams now and the rest of the freaks started to panic, holding on to each other as the paramedics busted through the door with what looked like gurneys. It was hard to see because my vision kept getting blurry, but that didn't stop me from looking at the boy I was trying to save. Although, there was black spots every where and the world was now a big smudge due to my vision, I still could see Michael clearly. I scrunched up my eyebrows at him at the sight of him. His arms were bloody and he had scattered bruises on his face and limps, but he was smiling. He was smiling? He was unconscious, but he was smiling. I didn't understand, why was he smiling? I soon lost my consciousness and the only image in my head was a broken and hurt Michael, smiling.
