- Narrative -

The women got out of the car and walked into their house, carrying the baked pastries.

Alice took Prisha's hand in hers and hurried them into the living room, where all the guys were. "Everyone, I have exciting news!" She clapped her hands while smiling broadly.

Alice and Prisha sat and saw Rosalie and Bella carrying the pies to the kitchen. "What is it, now, Alice?" Alex muttered. "Really, Alex, must you always be pessimistic?" Alice rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "I have wonderful news for all of you." She said, bouncing in the chair. Prisha had to tap her leg to calm her down.

"What happened, Alice?" Emmett inquired. "I FOUND YOU GUYS MATES!" Squealing, she said.
"What, really?" Jasper asked. Alice nodded. "Yeah, i-." Bella entered the living room with one of the pies, interrupting Alice. "Guys, this has animal blood in it." She said, frowning.

They looked at her, puzzled and surprised. "What? Where did you get it?" Catalina asked her.

"Apparently, the women that own the new bakery in New Port are their mates." Rosalie said as she looked at the men.

"Wait, so they are human?" Alex asked.

"That's the thing. What makes a person put animal blood in their pastries? It was also strange that I couldn't detect a heartbeat on her; she didn't smell like a human, and her blood was very faint." Prisha informed them.

"What did they look like?" Carlisle asked. Alice smiled and said, "They were absolutely beautiful. The one we talked to, her name is Mikayla." Alice went on to describe what the other two women looked like. Emmett and Edward were the only ones that looked excited and happy, while Jasper and Alex held blank expressions.

"Hold on, not that I'm not happy for the boys. But we need to talk about the elephant in the room. They can't be human. I think we need to go back to get to know them a little better, because if they are humans, which I really don't think they are, but if they are, this could be bad for us." Bella said.

Alex got up and excused himself. He walked out of the room and went outside. "Jasper, how do you feel about this?" Emmett asked him because he was so quiet.

"I'm happy about finding my mate, but..." He looked down at his lap, excused himself, and went upstairs.

"We should invite them over for dinner." Catalina said. They agreed, and Alice went back to talking about how excited she was about seeing them again.
