The day had finally arrived, I was moving to New York to study art, more specifically, dancing.

Dancing had been my life since I could remember it, my childhood has consisted on me attending ballet classes and then it expanded to all kinds of arts.

So when I got the offer to transfer from UMN to NYU at the end of my freshman year I was on cloud nine. Don't get me wrong I loved Minnesota, but New York had been my dream since I was five.

Now I was on my way from the airport to my new home, an off campus apartment that I would share with two roommates.

I had already experienced dorm life, and believe me, I wasn't going through it again, so when I saw in the school's Facebook page that two girls were in search of a third roommate I took the opportunity and now here I am.

My Uber parks in front of the building, after thanking the driver and getting my bags out of the trunk I head to my new home.

"Hi" I tell the receptionist in the lobby, giving her a warm smile, which she gladly returns "I'm Charlotte Miller, my apparent is the 5c, I believe my roommates are already here" I explain.

"Yes, just sign here and here's your key" she tells me grabbing a card and activating it so it opens my new apartment, "Thank you so much" I say goodbye and see other get out of the line where other students are waiting to get the keys.

After looking at the website, this was one of the most popular buildings off campus, and it was obvious why, it was in the middle of it and it had an amazing view.

I get to the fifth floor and go to the door with the C on it, I open it and see a girl running around putting things on their place.

She acknowledges my presence and stops,

Looks at me for a moment,

A smile forms on her face and she excitedly exclaims "Oh my goodness you much be Charlotte! I'm so sorry for the disaster, I'm just arranging some things, I'm Daisy" She pulls me into a warm hug.

"Yes, I'm Charlotte but you can just call me Lottie" I give her a bright smile.

"Okay Lottie, our other roommate Gen, should be her at any moment but knowing that bitch she's probably late" She says with a laugh.

"Anyways, let me show you your room" With that she starts walking and I follow her down the hall, eventually we reach a door and I open it to see an empty room.

The window shows the busy streets of manhattan and the view is to die for.

"Sorry we didn't give you the option of choosing room, but Gen and I had already decided and we had another roommate but she ditched on us" she says with an apologetic smile.
