Weeks went by, and the Dekusquad's secret continued to gnaw at the class's curiosity. The 'pretend nothing happened several weeks ago' act continued to leave Class 1-A more puzzled than ever. The Dekusquad's resolve to keep their past concealed, and they needed to continue to keep.
One evening, Bakugo couldn't take it any longer. He had been the most vocal about his suspicion from the beginning, and it was clear that the mystery was eating away at him. He had decided that he was going to stay behind with the dekusquad, and interrogate them.
Finally, almost everyone in the class left, and as Deku left, Bakugo grabbed his arm and slammed him against the wall, getting so close to his face, Deku could feel his breath on his face. "Listen, Deku," Bakugo hissed, "I'm sick of your cryptic nonsense. What's this secret you're all hiding?"
Deku's eyes widened, but Bakugo's intensity left him with little choice. "Kacchan, what-what are you talking about?"
Bakugo's patience was wearing thin. "Don't play fuckin' stupid! You know full well I hate that bullshit! Just fuckin' tell your goddamn secret!"
Todoroki and the rest of the Dekusquad, overhearing the heated exchange, joined them. It was clear that Bakugo wouldn't back down, and they had reached a breaking point. "Kacchan! Please!" Deku screamed, trying to push Bakugo away. Uraraka, without thinking, reached forward and grabbed Bakugo's shoulder.
Uraraka sighed, "Alright, Bakugo, we'll tell you, but you have to promise not to tell anyone else. It's too dangerous, and we need to trust you."
"Urarak--"
"Don't, Deku. We have to tell him! I think we can trust him. . ."
"Trust him, my ass," Todoroki scowled, "he'll go crawling to his nosy little friends and tell them everything."
"You fuckin' bitch--"
"Bakugo! Todoroki! Stop it!" Iida yelled, making the room become silent.
Bakugo's eyes flashed with a mix of annoyance and curiosity. "Fine. . .just spill the damn thing."
The Dekusquad exchanged glances, and Deku began, "When we were younger. . .when my mom left me. . .and I ran away. . .ugh--"
"Deku, fuckin' speak!"
"I'll speak for him," Uraraka spoke up, sighing, "you know that forest? Yeah, so we--" She continued to explain, rambling and occasionally going off topic. Bakugo had moments of shock, anger, regret, confusion, and everything in between. He had expected that they were millionaires, not runaways that live with the league of villains.
Izuku added, "We've been keeping it a secret because we didn't want to worry the class, but we realize it's been causing more harm than good."
Tsuyu spoke with a hint of regret, "We trust you, ribbit, Bakugo. Please, kero, don't break it."
Bakugo sighed and ran his hand through his hair, "goddamn, who'da thought this bullshit was this complicated," he looked up, his expression serious. "I promise, not a single soul will hear about this from me."
The revelation hung heavy in the room as Bakugo processed the information. He might have been hot-headed, but he understood the gravity of the situation. The Dekusquad's secret was not just a personal matter; it was a potential threat to all of them.
"C-Can I--uh--damn--er--come with you all? Home, I mean." He muttered.
"Oh god. . .uhm--er--should he?"
"Maybe it'll be too scary for him," Todoroki muttered.
"Ribbit, it'll give him a good experience, kero?" Tsuyu smiled.
