Not a prompt cause yeah. I had an idea for a story sooo....

Captain America: Civil War AU
*A/N. wrote this while watching Civil war for the millionth time, had an idea. Also written way later than I have any business being on an electronic that I'm not listening to music on or reading off of. Also now beta read because again, spur of the moment thing. Now that I think about it most of my stuff isn't beta read. And not editors AT ALL either. :)*

What if Wanda had tossed Rumlow away from the building?
What if Tony had been a bit more Tony to the lady from the state department, to Ross?
What would have happened then?

*picks up as Rumlow is going on his rant about Bucky and stuff*

Wanda's POV
"He said, when it's time to go, it's time to go. And I'm taking you with me."
Steve looked dumbfounded, confused and angry among the many other emotions that passed through his head.

I saw the kill switch before Steve did apparently. Any other time he would have been on it before it registered to me despite my telepathic abilities.

However this time was different. I was the one to catch it. I threw Rumlow up, and after realizing he was nearing the side of a building directed him as far up and away from any structures as I could.

And then Rumlow was finally gone. Not just with a building dropped on his face like he had mentioned, but exploded into nothing gone.
And there were no casualties aside from a handful of staff at the and a few of Rumlow's goons.

The clean up was relatively simple, we just had to set up the market with funds to replace products, housings for their stores within the market.

*a few months later*

Tony's POV
The whole thing with the teleprompter was just adding into this.

Then the lady pushed the thing at me and said she blamed me for her sons death on Sokovia.
That pushed me over the edge that was slowly nearing either way.

I guess you could say I snapped.
"I'm sorry? Is that what you wanted to hear? Yes I created Ultron, however, in case you failed to notice it was a plan to end the Avengers so that we could all have a normal life. It was botched because Hydra sucks and was working on a similar project to that which somehow ended up mixing through a rouge AI which was something I had zero control over. We, the Avengers, then proceeded to stop Ultron. Sokovia was destroyed because there were evil robots being controlled by an evil robot who wanted to destroy the world. I'm very sorry for your loss but everytime someone, or something for that matter tries to end, or takeover the world, we the Avengers lose a bit of our humanity. We have more anxiety, more panic triggers, it doesn't just affect us physically, it slowly eats at us mentally. Without us, you wouldn't be here to mourn your son, you and just about every other person on Earth would be dead. There would have been no casualties once the city blew up but a bit was missed and flipped the switch giving us less time to completely vaporize the area of the city that was flying. So pardon me, and is for that matter for trying our best to save the world."

And with that I walked off. I wasn't about to stick around for her to lecture me more on the topic, I'd heard it all plenty of times in the time since Sokovia.

That same day ironically, Ross insisted upon coming to the Compound to 'present' something.

Turns out what he wanted to present was the Sokovia Accords, which to be quite honest was an insult. Not I l'y to the Sokovians left living but also to the Avengers.

After the meeting, we sat and discussed. Sam and Rodey were arguing about it, the others were decently quite.
Even me.
I sat there thinking.
The Accords could split the difference and maybe help me get Pepper back. But then what happens when we need to go somewhere?
Vision thought up an equation.

After listening to it, Nat questioned why exactly I was being 'so non hyper verbal' I chuckled. Well let's see, I had a head ache and I'd been thinking. After voicing that much, I stood up to get myself some medicine and something to drink.

"To answer visions equation, we're out there, and if we're quote unquote, 'under new jurisdiction' then there are gonna be the guys who we deal with, the threats Vision's talking about, they probably won't let us deal with most of 'em. So then what happens? They see an opening and they take it. Then we're back to an even more messed up world."

That's when Steve got a text and excused himself.

Days later, we entered the UN meeting to present, not sign. And when you have a team like ours, things tend to go your way. So of course they did.
