PROMPT: heartbrekker34-THINGS THAT WILL NEVER BE LET GO W.L.F. EDITION

Ok, so we all know that one person that can be quite smart if they gave a shit, but are generally not the brightest?

Yea that's where this is going. This is what happens when you are ignorant to well, frankly everything.

On a nice-and by nice I mean sub freezing temperatures, large amounts of snow and a miserable school day- Wednesday in late January, we gathered into car 2, along the back corner of the school.

We had practice in a bit, but first was the wait. The waiting for the rest of the team, and for the bus.

As we did every Wednesday we were simply trying to comprehend how we were going to get through the rest of the week, and of course screwing around with the occasional bit of the mounds of school work we had thrown in.

Every week we were warned not to do anything too stupid or anything that could result in injury. But of course, being generally not the brightest meant not being too keen to ones surroundings. Which meant a higher risk of injury to said person and anyone and everyone around them.

On this particular day, there was less crazy happening, with the season having both relaxed and been kicked up a bit, that much was to be expected.

But of course the somewhat peace had to end.

Now this is late January, Ice is always a concern to those traveling, be it by foot or car. However it's not supposed to be an issue inside.

One girl had managed to spill a water, nothing out of the ordinary, however when you have a dim witted teenager thrown in, even the smallest accidents can become a bigger issue.

Simply by being himself and doing three of the things he was best at-running, not paying attention and getting injured- he destroyed the rest of his season.

He ran across the cafeteria and slipped in the puddle of ice and water. He flew forward running into the table before collapsing backwards and slamming into the ground.

At the time he seemed fine, or as fine as one can be after that experience. Simple a sore back that was reasonable given that he fell on it.

It wasn't until later when we had started practice that we realized he likely had a concussion, showing most of the symptoms. needless to say he didn't participate in practice. And later that night when we arrived back at school it was confirmed he had a concussion and was sent home with a doctors note.

he returned to practice a week later.
