Prompt 3

Ah. School trips.

This one was weird and had a) never happened before and b) really had like no reason for happening now.

This school trip was for our science class supposedly. However, our science teacher had told us that since it was the end of the year and our exams and stuff was done he just wanted us to have some fun since our class had the best grades in the school. So, he took us on a camping trip.

I know, brining twenty tenth graders on a camping trip with only two adults sounds both awesome and like a terrible idea.

But here we are, being divided into groups of five to go do stuff. I only had one friend in my class so it doesn't really matter what group I'm in as long as I'm with them.

Yes I said them. Get over it. They're just as great as any other person. Parker had been one of my best friends since we were little. They had moved in next door to us when we were in second grade and we had become best friends since.

Mr.Hampton is announcing our groups now.
"ALRIGHT KIDOS, HERE WE GO."
Lowering his voice slightly he began listing off names. "Group one is Cooper, Ash, Matt, Brady and Safi."of fun, half the jocks in the class are in that group. At least we're not with them. "Group two is Mary, Lexi, Bella, Sofi and Maria."
The popular girls. "Group three is Parker, Aydin, Jake, Zaida and Tommy." Oh you've got to be kidding me. HOW IS IT THAT I'M THE ONLY GIRL(well technically it varies from day to day but for right now/today I'm the only girl)IN THIS GROUP?! Not only that, but I'm with the rest of the jocks, two of which are brothers and I have to get along with.

After that I kinda zoned out but group four was the nerds who could actually do stuff and group five were just the super unathletic kids minus Parker. They REALLY were NOT athletic.

Ok so, I should probably explain.

My mom and Jake and Tommy's(who's actually name is Thomas) mom work together. They're both teachers and they've been working together since before we were born. Actually they'd been working together since they started teaching. They both taught sixth grade, and worked on the same 'team' like the core subject teachers are all a team. My mom taught English and theirs taught social studies.

It's kinda of ironic. They met at their job interviews since two teachers had retired and they just kinda started talking. They were both pretty fresh out of collage and had both taken the summer off seeing as they had just graduated college. They both ended up getting the positions, and they've worked there ever since. Which is now.... oh shoot lemme think. Like 21, 22 years or something? I dunno. But anyways after a while they figured out that they lived like ten minutes away from each other. And once mom moved after she got married(they're mom was already married when they met, she got married that summer) they lived even closer.

But anyways, since I was a baby I've been forced to go to just about every school event. And the three of us have to hang out. Well, plus our younger siblings. I have a younger brother and sister and they have a younger sister. our sisters are the same age. And if they have to work on something out side of school or even just hang out since I mean they are REALLY good friends, we're stuck together too.

When we were little, until we were like eight or nine, we were actually really great friends, in and out of school.It would matter a lot less cause I wouldn't have to see them anymore aside from the fact that I still have to do a ton of stuff with them, cause our moms still work together, which isn't helping. 

Our moms insist that I HAVE to hang out with them at all the school events and anything else and of course , 'no I'm not allowed to bring friends' except they are. Obviously when they come over to my house they don't and only sometimes bring friends to school events, but the other times at school events and at their house about 90% of the times they're most definitely allowed to have friends with them. It's be fine if mom didn't think we were all still friends.
