JACKS P.O.V.
I looked down at the little sphere of blur green and white, and wondered why I had gotten a warnings when I went to jump here.
As I looked, I noticed that I couldn't see anything of the moon except a super faded flag that the sun had bleached white. I also saw a station come into view and I looked over at the console to make sure the ship was still cloaked. The station looked like something you would have seen from most other places seventy or more years ago. Hopefully that had scanners that old to.
Of course, August decided this moment to enter the cabin.
AUGUST'S P.O.V.
I woke up and once I was finished reorienting myself, something that happened every time we took a flight which was very often considering, I noticed the warning.
QUARANTINE PLANET. Do not land. Do not interact with any native species. Danger. Hostile. Contaminated. QUARANTINE PLANET.
OH NO HE DIDN'T.
Except he actually freaking did.
Of course Jack would do that. He's not dumb but I'll bet he saw an old thing about The Quarantine Planet before it was realized that we should just let them be and decided to come visit.
Honestly, what am I going to do with him?
I headed to the cabin to have a little chat with our current pilot.
JACK'S P.O.V.
"ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?" Geez. What's with her?
"No? Why would I be?" I'm honestly confused.
"YOU BROUGHT US TO THE FREAKING QUARANTINE PLANET. THE QUARANTINE PLANET. THIS IS YOUR WORST IDEA THIS WEEK." Ohf. That's rough.
"What's the quarantine planet? And why is it quarantined?"
"Ugh... I cant deal with this right now." Rory walks in "hey Rory, guess what THIS idiot did now?"
"Nothing good judging by the warning in my room and what your currently dong." He says, exasperated. Probably from being stuck with us for three days straight with no break time.
"He brought us to The Quarantine Planet." She sounds falsely cheery, which is kinda scary if you ask me.
Rory let his head drop and bang against a console. "Seriously?"
"Seriously"
"Come on guys, it just seemed like a fun place to visit." I'm now kinda annoyed. August still hasn't answered my questions.
"The quarantine planet has an epidemic. Death. They cease to exist. Like we're always gonna be here but they won't. And they pass it down, person to person, mother to child, generation after generation. They spread it to the plants and food, everything. But they don't know that death is a disease. It's just kinda that we've put them under a quarantine even though they tecnically don't know we exist and no one is to reach out and they won't find us."
Suddenly I'm not so excited. "Yeahhhh...... maybe we should just go back home huh?"
"Yes!" They say in unison.
I sigh and turn back to the flight stick. "Fine." I reply, and head us towards home.
I most definitely didn't write this at like midnight while talking to a friend who had picked the prompt....
