I think this song is right for Bethyl because it talks about two people who have always deeply cared about each other, but are drifting apart for some reason. It's romantic and the rythm is really soothing and suiting for Beth and Daryl.
Daryl and Beth, of all people, emotionally, were very connected, despite not being together. This is proved when we see Daryl in the 'claimers' group, and after Len is killed, Daryl consider covering his dead body, a direct reference to when Beth asked him to cover up the corpse in the golf club and he answered with a sly ''It don't matter, she's dead,'' and she replied ''It does matter,''. However, Daryl and Beth hadn't actually been together for days, and they could feel that distance between each other. They missed each other.
I think that some lines from the song that really relate and are fitting for their relationship are: ''Maybe I'll hold on fast to you [...] hello love, for you I have so many words,''
