Avenger's POV
Captain America stared up at the bright, star like light in the sky that was drawing closer every second.
"You sure she said no?" Bruce asked for the tenth time that minute.
"Yes." T'challa sighed exasperatedly. "If she'd said yes, we would have brought her back with us."
"Did you bug her at all?" Bruce persisted, looking back up at the threat quickly advancing upon them.
"No, Bruce, we didn't."
"Stop asking Bruce, it won't make our situation any better. We already know engaging her isn't a great tactic." Cap sighed, adjusting his shield.
"What I'm worried about is the fact that it's the ship that's coming down, not the missiles." Black Widow observed with dry calmness.
"I'll bet that motherfucker has some nasty trick up his sleeve." Fury grumbled, hands tucked in his pockets, long coat blown out behind him.
"This mother of fuckers as you say," commented Thor, "is a male. I was not aware they could change their genders." Fury sighed, and put his head in his hand as a small space pod was dispatched from the larger ship, and sent down. Three people walked out. Their skin was grey, their eyes were orange, and they had horns. These were the first noticeable attributes to the Avengers. But as the conversation that followed went on, they began to notice more.
"What do you want?" Fury called, striding forward, the Avenger's waiting tensely behind him.
"Surrender." Hissed the leader. Scarlet Witch looked away as the curved, deep sea fish teeth were revealed.
"And if we don't?"
"We come down, and kill you all." The alien made a fist in Fury's face, showing off his two thumbs, and six other fingers. Fury, like a true boss, didn't flinch.
"Well you can scoot your ass back up to space, because we aren't going to let either of those two options happen. Missiles or no missiles." He growled back. The aliens cackled.
"Oh, we don't intend to bomb your precious planet, for it has things we need to. No, we will take over, and take everything." Fury chuckled, then became deadly serious.
"Try me then." The aliens hissed with pleasure at this response, and returned to their small pod. Fury turned back to the Avengers. "We battle." A roar sounded from the sky as the engines of the enormous space craft came to life.
"Have all the civilians been evacuated?" Cap asked, glancing back at Wanda. She nodded solemnly.
"I couldn't make them go far, without damaging their weak minds, but I got them out of the city." She replied. He nodded, right as the space ship crashed into the ground. Buildings were instantly smashed, and dust rolled over everything. As the smoke and dust settled, the Avengers heard an eerie chant.
"Say-ayah! Say-ayah! Xhorh! Xhorh!" The beasts chanted as they marched out in formation.
"Well, this is going to end well." Black Widow murmured.
"Um guys. . .is this a code green or something?" Bruce asked, backing away and rubbing his hands together.
"No, dipshit, it's code peach." Tony growled. "OF COURSE IT'S CODE GREEN YOU FUCKING MORON!" Bruce coughed and turned away as he transformed.
"Avengers, assemble!" Cap called, running and leaping from the roof at the advancing horde of horrid creatures.
"I'd follow America's ass anywhere!" Ant Man yelled, jumping after him, and adding sixty five feet to his form.
"Oh good heavens." Wasp whispered, as she flew into the air and shrunk. One by one, the Avengers followed Cap. Nick Fury stayed on the roof with some sort of lazer gun Captain Marvel had brought him from the Skrull's, before she tried to bash her brains out attempting to fly through the giant space frisbee. He stayed on the roof, and blasted as many small space pods as he could, as well as destroying the doors of the ship, so the concentrated mass had to use the main entrance and couldn't sneak up on anyone.
"There's to many!" Thor gasped, as he, Tony, and Cap ducked as the Hulk was chucked over their heads, still roaring.
"I can see that, damn it." Tony hissed, shooting to long blasts into the advancing ranks.
"Uh Mr. Stark, there's another space ship coming!" Peter called, swinging by overhead, being chased by a mob. Vision landed beside the small trio.
"I can confirm the young man's statement, Mr. Stark. It is indeed grave news." Iron Man sighed.
"Just as I thought things were going our way."
"Things have not been going our way." Stephen Strange grumbled, popping up beside them, and transporting a bunch of the angry demons elsewhere in space. His eyes glowed green for a second as did the stone around his neck. "But we still have a small chance." He vanished to keep fighting with his band of magic monk people.
"It had better be a much higher chance than what you said when we faced Thanos!" Tony screamed after him. Cap shook his head and Black Widow rolled up and stood.
"Were loosing badly. The shrinking people have been caught, and are held in glass jars, boarding the ship, and Clint is out of arrows." She reported, before rushing off to aid Peter, who was getting swarmed.
"How many arrows did that man bring?" Vision asked, as he and Cap charged side by side.
"Twenty four." Came the voice over their comms.
"Twenty four?" Tony's voice roared in their ears. "There are millions of these little crap-cakes out here!"
"And I just killed a hundred or more, your welcome. I did have exploding arrows, Tony." An explosion sounded from their side as a second ship crashed into midtown Manhattan.
"We aren't going to. . ." A blast from the ship caused all the Avengers, except Vision to fall to the ground, writhing as their blood pulsed uncontrollably. Vision tried to hit the machine with his mind-stone. They reflected it off to the side, slaying some of their own.
"We're in trouble." Gasped Bucky as he struggled to sit up from where he'd been knocked to the ground. A large part of the ship rose into the sky and pointed down at them.
"You resist our rule, we wipe you out." Snarled the largest of the strange extraterrestrial creatures. A green lazer light shot from it and split till each Avenger had the light on their chest. No one could move, to weak from the pulse blaster.
"You can knock us down, but others will rise up to take our place." Cap snapped back from his hunched position.
"Not if anyone lives to spread the word of you poor saints." The alien laughed sarcastically.
"Who said they're going to die?" A new voice growled, rising above the clamor. Everyone froze and looked up. A young girl hovered in the air by the Avengers tower. Blackness roared up from the street behind her, as more slid into her hands, forming two swords.
"Who-who are you?" The leader gasped as the girls eyes turned black and glittered.
"My name, is Ash Blackheart, and you are trespassing."
