i was doing another delivery for tadashi when i ran into the blond again.

as the chime of the bell announced my arrival, i laid eyes on tadashi packing up a small cake for the blond.

"thank you for coming in, i hope you like the cake."

"good morning," i greeted calmly, "beautiful weather we're having."

both boys stared at me.

"good morning, y/n. give me a sec to wrap up here and i'll get the crates." tadashi finished quickly before saying bye to his current customer and heading off to the back.

the stupid blond didn't leave though and instead peered down at me.

stupid tall boy, i said in my head.

"an awful lot of bags, don't you think?" he alluded to the ones i was carrying propped against my hip as i tried to stop them from slipping.

"yeah? and what about it?"

"just a lot of weight to carry for a little girl like you." he demeaned.

i blinked at him, trying to figure out if he had really just said that.

"you know," i started, "i own a really big farm."

i saw the boy quirk an eyebrow behind his glasses. "it has a lot of land and plenty of dirt and it's pretty secluded. this is also a pretty close town. the people depend on me as much as i depend on them."

i watched his expression, "if a single nobody were to go missing, no one would tell. all that dirt becomes even more useful but it isn't very cute when you're drowning in it."

i caught the slight break in his facade before he clicked his tongue and walked off, bag in his hand.

"bye, bye, blondie. be careful with the bag, looks like a little too much weight for a boy like you."

tadashi came in as i waved the blond off. "oh my god, did you threaten to bury him?"

"what?! no way, dashi, why would i ever do that?" i fluttered my eyelashes innocently.

"anyways, what did he order? you can tell a lot about a person by what they order." i leaned on the counter.

"um," tadashi hesitated, "he ordered, a, um, strawberry shortcake."

i let out a laugh that had me hunching over the counter. "what?! no way."

tadashi confirmed with a nod of his head and then i remembered.

"but dashi, you don't make strawberry shortcakes."

-

"hello?" i answered my phone later that evening.

"y/n!" tadashi shouted in my ear.

i pulled it away then returned to it, "what?"

"i forgot to mention, tsukki invited us over! well, not us but the welcoming committee. something about his roommates wanting us to meet them."

"really? wait, who's tsukki?" i heard some rustling on the other end.

"oh, i meant kei. sorry, he introduced himself to me earlier today but i kind of nicknamed him so it would stick."

"wow, yams, first you bake him something that you don't even sell and then you nickname him? invite me to the wedding when you're done."

"jeez, don't say that weirdo." but i knew he was blushing on the other end. "anyways, are we gonna go? we could see how many other people have come and we can find out why they're here."
