Alexander:

Today has definitely been one of the weirder ones, even with certain truths being revealed, but I still kinda half expected my parent's to hate Tim, but no, the exact opposite happened. He got along with Ma swimmingly, and my Pa loves how he can keep me in line like my mother does with him. Maria and Flint kinda just sat back the whole time being quiet, and when I finally told them they could go wait on the jet, they scrambled. Ma, Pa, Tim, and I all sat down and thought out a plan to take down Alucard, but we also made a plan that we knew Alucard had to respect and follow the vampiric law.

" Now, Ma, what exactly were yours and Pa's titles back in the day? Those are important."

" Correct, Vampiric law, though older than most and is still the only law to never been altered, is the one set of rules Vlad has always respected."

" True. Well, your Pa's was Sir Alexandru Popescu, while mine had been Queen Roza Marie Antonia Dracula. Oh god how I hate that fucking title!"

" Hey, mine was Grand Prince Timothy Wilbur Kelly Dracula, so imagine how much I hate it. At least I can drop his shit like the bag of bricks it is."

" He made you middlize your name, and called you Grand Prince? Oh good fucking lord he has lost his damn mind."

" To be fair, Ma, I don't think this asshole ever had it to begin with."

" That's fair."

" So here's my idea of how we do this. You said the bind brand has to be cut or a loved one has to shed his blood in order to break the binds and to unleash the true rights his vampiric birth has, yes? I refuse to let Alex go in alone. I was born and raised in Texas, and much like Flint, I know a thing or two of how a gun should work. If I can manage to steal one of Alucard's guns and use it to shoot at the brand mark, it should do the trick, right? Not to mention I have access to the holy reliquaries within the church, hence why Tim is mostly human again. I know of a relic that is said to be extremely powerful, and that it could a multitude of things, but I don't know exactly what it would do to Alucard."

" And what relic is that, son?"

" The Nail of Helena, Pa. If I could stake it into his heart, it might actually work in killing him. The worst it could do to him from what I understand is that it could make him human again, purge him of all his sins, so to speak."

" And even if it does that, he'd be weak and left with nothing, not even worth the salt to season. One good normal blade to the gut would do him in if thats the case."

" Tim, son, you are far too smart for my boy. If you do all that, in the right order, mind you, Alex will be the true king, and have the right to beak that cocky bastard's crown and lay claim over all of the vampiric dominion."

" So, essentially, I'd become Àrd Rìgh? Of all vampires?"

" Exactly. No one, not even Vlad, Beth, or Carmie could argue with you. You would be the High King of the entire Vampiric race."

I sat back in my chair, awe and amazement plastered over me in waves of joy and worry I hadn't felt before. I literally could order an entire race of monsters into extinction, with a few exceptions, and wipe a new slate clean and start fresh. Erase the damage Alucard has done to the world, and clean it all up.

" Alex, love, I know that look. No, you aren't allowed to do what you are thinking of."

" Oh and just what am I thinking, Timothy?"

" A race wide genocide with only a few exceptions being made."

The look on his face told me not to even bother with trying to deny it, and all I did was shrug.

" Sounded good in the moment, you can't tell me it wouldn't be a beneficial thing."

" And send the world into a panic due to so many people going missing? Alex, think of the ripple effect such an order could cause."

I rolled my eyes and moved to get a drink, only to feel a ball of paper hit me in the back of my head. I turned to find Tim holding a second one with a smirk.

" Keep being an ass, and I'll show you just how much of a pain I can be, Father."

My Ma and Pa giggled as he moved slightly closer to the door, because he knew I hated that, and I know he did it to be cheeky and to release the tension the topic had built up.

" Tim, I'd run if I were you."

" You'd never hurt me."

" No, but I do know how to make you suffer."

" Fuck."

The word wasn't out of his mouth before he dashed out the door, and a laugh left my parents as I warped outside to chase him half way across the field. I knew these hills better than he ever could know. I knew he'd go for the knoll thinking he could hide under it, so when I got closer, I moved slowly, and silently sat down above the top to where my shadow didn't cast over.

" I know you're under the knoll. I know these fields as well as I do the back of my hand."

I heard him slightly shuffle, but when he went to bolt, I reached out and caught the collar of his sweater, and lifted him off the ground so he couldn't run.

" Damn you. I guess you win."

" Your right, I do. Now what is it I win?"

He shrugged, and I knew exactly what I wanted.

" I think I know exactly what it is I've won. This knoll is far enough from the house that no one, not even a vampire can hear out here, and I know it takes a while just walking to get here. You are mine, my California dream."
