Chapter 21: Opening

Demi's POV

I wake up since someone is shoving me, I open my eyes to find Joe looking like a zombie. He yawns before he says " Hey sunshine. "

" Hey sunshine yourself. " I say laughing, he seriously looks dead. He shrugs and leans down to kiss me, which makes me fully wake up.

" Merry Christmas. " He says smiling, how could I have forgotten?

" Merry Christmas to you too. " I say pecking him once more on the cheek, we then both get up from the couch. Its a tradition for them to all sleep downstairs on Christmas eve in sleeping bags. Joe and I shared a couch while Kevin and Dani shared the other. Frankie and Nick both slept on the floor, unfortunately for Nick. It looked like Joe and I were the only two left downstairs, everyone must be ready upstairs to open presents.

" Sorry, I wanted to sleep in, but Frankie insisted we all woke up. " Joe says taking my hand and leading me up the stairs.

" It's ok, I don't mind. " I say smiling, this was going to be a great day. I can just feel it. When we get upstairs the presents are being handed out to everyone. Joe and I sit against the wall as his mom hands us our presents. I'm surprised that I have two, I didn't think I was going to get any. That reminds me, the present that I worked so hard to get for Joe is upstairs in my bag.

" Joe I left your present upstairs, let me go get it. " I say starting to get up, but he stops me.

" It's ok, I was kind of hoping we would exchange alone after. " He says smiling, I nod and sit back down next to him grabbing his hand. We all then start to open the presents happily, Frankie was probably the most enthusiastic about it. He went all crazy trying to open his presents as fast as he could, it was funny to watch Joe's mother try to calm him down. I opened my gifts and got a generous 25$ giftcard to one of my favorite stores from Joe's parents, and then a cute t-shirt from Kevin and Dani. I can't even describe how thankful I am, I haven't gotten more than one Christmas present in a long time. When everyone was done and talking about their gifts, Joe took my hand and pulled me up. We then started to walk up the stairs to his room, he shut the door behind us with a grin on his face.

" Ok just sit and let me get it. " He says smiling going to his closet, I grabbed the flat present in my bag excited. I really hoped he liked my present, it took a lot to get. I sit on the bed and wait, he then comes over with his hands behind his back hiding my present.

" Here...I really hope you like it. " He says revealing a bag with tissue paper on top, it was probably a foot tall. I take it and smile, I then take out the tissue paper and firstly pull out a box of chocolates.

" Yum, these look good. " I say looking at the box seeing there are more than seven different flavors, I am going to like this.

" They are. There's more. " He says looking back at the bag, I grab out the last thing in the bag and see that its a long yet small velvet box.

" What is it? " I ask before he gently takes it from my hands and opens the little box. I gasp at what I see, how could he afford this? It was a beautiful silver necklace that said my name in cursive. It was absolutely beautiful.

" Do you like it? " He asks only looking at me, I just nod and grin. I didn't like it, I loved it.

" I love it. " I say gazing at it, he then takes it out of the box.

" Turn. " He says grinning, I obey and he puts it on me. This was seriously the best thing i've ever gotten, when its on he says once more" Turn. "

I turn again and he smiles admiring it, then he looks at me and says " Merry Christmas. "

" Thank you so much Joe, this is the best gift i've ever gotten. " I say hugging him tight, I want him to get the message. He is the best boyfriend a girl could ever have.

" Your welcome Dems. " He says kissing my head, I love him so much. I then remember my gift to him, so I turn and grab it from behind me.

" Here, it's kind of fragile so be careful with it. Lets just say it's kind of old." I say giving him the thin present, I can't wait to see his reaction. I had to go to about twenty different record stores to find it, and then spend about half of my savings, but I would never tell him that.

" Ok, now what is this? " He says smiling, he then starts to unwrap the paper. When its open, he smiles.

" A vintage Abby Road Beatles album. This is awesome. Thank you. " He says grinning, I laugh and say slowly " Joe turn it over. "

He turns it over and his eyes square onto the cover of the album. He then looks up at me and gives me a shocked and overwhelmed expression.

" How in the world...did you get..." He says looking back at it with the same expression.

" Don't worry about it. " I say grinning, his expression is priceless.

" Don't worry about it? It's freaken signed by John Lennon! This is so...so cool! " He says starting to freak out, I start to laugh since I wasn't expecting this reaction.

" Thank you so so so so so much. This is absolutely Ah-mazing! " He says setting it down gently on his desk then coming back to give me a hug that about squeezes me to death.

" Your welcome. Thank you so much for this necklace. " I say remembering how awesome it is. This was the best Christmas i've ever had.

" You are amazing. " He says before he leans in and kisses me softly, now it was the best Chirstmas ever.
