Chapter 9: Studying

I stand by my locker waiting for Joe to come meet me, I can't wait to hang out with him. I'm in a good mood right now since I was about to be with him, and Ashley wasn't here today. I love days like that, where she's not here. I feel a touch on my back, so I turn around to find Joe standing there grinning.

" Hey there. " He says grabbing my hand, I really like how he's into the whole handholding thing.

" Hey. " I say squeezing his hand, he smiles and asks " Are you ready? "

" Yeah. " I respond before we start to walk hand in hand, he's wearing a beanie which is really hot. When we get outside, it's snowing lightly. We walk quickly so we don't get too wet. He opens the passenger door for me when we're there. I slide in watching him go around the car to get in next to me.

" I wonder where my brother is. " He says once he's in, he then turns on the heater since it's freezing inside. He then pulls out his phone and looks at the screen for a second.

" Never mind, he just texted and said he is going to a friends house. So I guess we can go. " He says driving out of the parking lot, that's too bad. I wanted to meet him. We drive in silence, it's not awkward though. When we get to his house, I can't help but drop my jaw. His house is huge, I didn't know he came from this kind of money. It wasn't the biggest house I've seen, but it's still pretty big. He parks in the garage which fits three other which are all gone, we then get out and walk into his house. I look around in awe as we go up to his room, it seems as if nobody else is home. When we get to his room, I sit down on his bed as he sets his stuff down. There are some boxes on the floor, but it's pretty much unpacked.

" So what do you want to study first? " He asks sitting down next to me, rather close making me blush. Anytime he does anything, he makes me blush.

" Whatever you want. " I say smiling, i've never truly been alone like this with a boy. We stare into each others eyes for what seems like forever, he's never looked so beautiful. He then leans down closer to me touching his lips to mine, my whole world becomes still. The kiss deepens quickly and I lift my hands to wrap around his neck, he then slides his hands down to my waist making me shaky. His lips taste so good on mine. He then releases slowly, I can hear his breathing which is slightly heavy. His forehead is touching mine, for some reason I can't open my eyes. I think I'm scared to see his reaction, did he like it? I open my eyes slowly to see him staring at me softly, he then says " I'm sorry, did I go too far?"

" No. " I respond not letting my hands drop from his neck, his hands still at my hips.

" Good. " he says before he kisses me again, his tongue wrestling mine. We pull each other closer, I know I was blushing nonstop. I then take off his beanie so I can run my hands through his hair that is so soft.

" Eww! " I hear someone say, Joe and I both release each others kiss and look over to see where it came from. I see a young boy standing in the doorway with a disgusted face.

" Go away Frankie. " says Joe through his teeth trying to be nice, I take my hands away from him and blush even harder.

" Fine i'll just go tell mom what your doing. " says Frankie with an evil grin on his face. He then runs off making Joe look worried, Joe then sighs in irritation.

" Sorry that's my little brother, he's gonna be the death of me someday. " Joe says taking my hand, two seconds we hear " Joe is kissing a girl in his room! "

" Oh sh*t. " is all Joe says before he hurries and grabs a notebook and textbook out of his backpack, he then hands me the notebook and opens it. I can hear footsteps on the stairs and Joe then says " And when you mix-oh hey mom. "

I look over at the doorway and see Joe's mother standing there with her eyebrows raised. She doesn't look too happy, will she buy that we are just studying.

" Who's this? " she asks taking a step into the room, her eyebrows still raised.

" This is my friend Demi. " Joe says smiling, obviously nervous and scared of his mom.

" Hi." I say smiling nervously, the way his mom was looking at me was scaring me too.

" What are you two doing up here? " she asks putting her hands on her hips, still frightening me.

" Studying. " Joe says immediately gulping afterwards waiting to see if his mom believes it. She stands there and squints contemplating on whether to believe him or not.

" Nice to meet you Demi, you guys keep studying. " she says before she leaves, Joe let's out a big sigh of relief. He then sets down the book and scoots back over to me, he then whispers "Sorry about that. "

" It's ok. " I say taking his hand back in mine, he smiles and lifts his hand to push loose hair behind my ear. We start to talk not wanting to study or do homework, he likes to play with my fingers when I talk. It's cute and relaxing, every now and then, he'll kiss them making me forget what I was saying. I seem to be able to talk to him easier since there's not a lot of other people watching and staring at us. We hold back the urge to kiss again just in case his little brother comes back and sees us, it's hard though.

" So how many siblings do you have? " I ask curiously, he plays with my fingers making me smile.

" I have three brothers and a sister in law. Frankie who is eight, Nick who is sixteen, Kevin who is twenty one and who is married to Danielle who is twenty. " he says smiling, did he say Nick? It can't be the same though, they must just have same names.

" Cool. " I say before I look at my phone's clock, wow I had been here for a couple of hours. It was five o' clock, I probably should get home so I don't take any of his time away from his family.

" Do you have to go? " he asks sadly noticing me checking the time.

" I probably should get going, I don't want to take your time away from your family. " I say sadly, I really did like spending time with him.

" No don't worry, do you wanna stay for dinner? " he asks hopefully, I really do want to.

" I don't want to intrude. " I say wishing I could stay and not go back home just yet.

" No don't worry, I don't want you to leave yet. " he says softly making me blush and smile.

" Really? " I ask surprised, most people did want me to leave whenever they were around me.

" Yeah, I really like you Demi. " he says making me feel relieved, I felt the same way probably more though. I was falling fast and I don't know how to slow down, him staring at me like this wasn't helping.

" I really like you too. " I say poking him in the abs smiling, he smiles too and then kisses me on the cheek.

" Come on, let's go downstairs. " he says getting up still holding my hand, we then walk down the stairs, I was scared that his family won't like me.
