Chapter 46

Their hearts beat fast

Their breathing is heavy

Their feet ache

Be chased down by a giant rock monster was not in their bucket list. But it surely was something.

They knew they've been running for atleast two days. Stopping here and there to rest and replenish their hunger and thirst.

Though the day came when the ninjas returned. And that they witnessed the battle. Acronix didn't interfere as it was more of a sky battle. And that he would be no match with an oni.

But everything died down finally. Finally things started to look up...well that's what Acronix hoped.

Walking to the ninjas, the twins stood side by side, different clothing on, something much of their own style. "Acronix! Youre-" Lloyd started off joyfully, but sawn Krux. Making him defensive against his team. "What are you doing here..I thought you was locked up." Lloyd muttered coldly. Krux looked away from the shorter male in disappointment.

"No Lloyd...he helped me escape Kryptarium and make it here. Even defended me against the gang...I believe he had proven himself, you may not think. But give my hermano a chance. He has done well.." Acronix explained, putting a hand on his brothers shoulders. Giving them a hopeful look. The ninjas looked at each other with worried looks. "Dispite..all that happened..?"

Acronix nodded with a soft smile. "He really had, I swear to you!" He replied to them, hoping to get them to tip over onto his side. Lloyd clearly looked hesitant, but he nodded. "If you say so...but if he starts up anything again, it's back to prison for him" he said sternly. "Wasn't planing on doing anything wrong..I rather have my brother back." Krux finally spoke as he hugged his younger twin.

"Well, my father is being sent to prison, and we have to get Jay a therapist. The city is half destroyed. But atleast everyone is ok." Lloyd said to atleast brighten things up. "Somewhat.." he muttered, glancing to the few that was in another realm. "Well, I believe we all deserve a good rest. It's been a tiring week." Zane mentioned as he ran his hand through his messy white hair. "Well..where are we even going to reside? We have no home..", Lloyd mentioned. Acronix thought about it.

"Wasn't the Monastery fixed?" He mentioned, perking that idea up to Lloyd's head. "Hey, you're right!" He realized. "But though, we do have to help clean the Jade Palace, I agreed that we would. So hopefully they'll let us rest there.", He mentioned straight after. Making Kai groan. "God no the nightmares!", He whined. "The Royal family is gone, so what's the point?!" Complaining, Lloyd smacked him on the back of the head.

"Even if there is no royal family now, it's still our duty to serve others and help those in need." He said sternly.

Dispite the ninjas arguing, Krux pulled the younger twin off to the side. He hugged him tightly suddenly. Acronix stood there shocked, but he hugged him back gently. "Gracias hermano... thank you..." Krux whispered. "Didn't think I could of get this far...", he muttered with a sad tone. "Of course...I wanted to make sure you was redeemed like I was...of course it will take some time, but I know people will accept you again." Acronix mentioned.

"Though I don't believe they would accept Dr. Saunders", Krux joked, making the younger laugh. "Ah yes, the famous Dr. Sanders Saunders. How could I ever forget?!" Acronix joked along. Making Krux laugh genuinely. "Pleasure to be here, Acronix", the older voice changed to the other person he played as. "Noo- not the voice-!" Acronix whined.

"Yes the voice! How about I make you my famous pickle beet tea?" Krux grinned, making the younger gag. "Ew no! What the heck is that even?!" Acronix complained with laughter at the end. "It's not as bad as it sounds, it's honestly really healthy for you." Krux explained in his regular voice. "I got the idea from Madre. Don't see why people are grossed about it." He said in concern. "Maybe because the name sounds nasty", Acronix replied, giving him a raised brow.

"Eh it's their loss", Krux shrugged. "But anyways...thank you..", he smiled lovingly. "You're welcome hermano. It's what I could do", said the younger twin. Though his idea still remained. But he doesn't know when he wants to do it. Even though, Krux still needs to prove himself for it

Coming close to the end of the night and breaking of day. The ninjas and the twins rested well at the Palace, that parts wasn't destroyed. Even after all this time, only the throne room was the main area that was hit and little else was destroyed besides the ritual shrine.

It felt off, but the royals had made it out safely. But they was disappointed in themselves. Mainly due to their daughter turning out evil. But she was no more after all.

The twins seemed to be doing fine, being the fact they was able to sleep properly. Giving them chance to replenish their energy. Acronix was especially drained, by using the element so much for the twos safety.

The next day came by fast. Everyone felt refreshed and was fed generously. But things still felt off. Especially with Lloyd. But he dare not speak about it. It came time where they have to help clean up the palace. And boy tell you there was alot that needed to be cleaned up.

It took a few days, but they managed to get most done. But Acronix worried. He hasn't seen Borg and S.Y.M refused him to go with her. And Borg hasn't once tried to contact him in any way. What if he was hurt? What if he was kidnapped? What if-

"Acronix!" Yelled his older twin. "Are you ok? You've been very distant..", Krux spoke softly ad he touched his shoulder. "I'm worried for Borg...I don't know where he is..", Acronix muttered sadly, looking down to the ground. "He will come round hermano. Just give it a bit more time. Strongly enough himself and his industry has been a main target. So it's likely that he is laying low for a bit till everything has died down." His brother explained to the younger.

Acronix nodded as he picked up a small picture frame. It containing the royal family. But not wantingnto dwell on his own losses. He put the picture frame back where he 'sumed would belong.

"Madre and Padre is still with us brother. Just in our hearts...I know that now...", Krux smiled, giving Acronix joy that he finally let go. "It's hard to know they are gone. But I atleast have you still. And I plan to keep you by my side...but no evil plans intended", Krux said. Rubbing his brothers head, messing up his tidy hair. The younger laughed. "I'm glad. As long we are here for each other..", saying softly, he hugged his brother gently.
