When I arrived home I knew mom would be mad I stepped inside and took a deep breath
" oh look here she is you finally decided to come home then"

" no you left your sister at school and drove off"

" what Lois didn't tell you oh well I'll have to fill you in then, today Alan was taken to hospital after James beat him up"

I ran upstairs and slammed my door what was I supposed to do, I let anger get the better of me and I kicked my desk knocking several things off it, as I bent down to pick them up my eyes fell apon my guitar I took it out of its case and slowly played breakfast at Tiffany's. Lying on my bed I couldn't help but think about Alan
Maybe I shouldn't go round, no you have to it will upset him if you don't

My thoughts were interrupted by the phone downstairs
" Ellie"
" what is it mom"
" it's Mrs Gall on the phone for you"
" alright I'm coming"
I swiftly walked down the stairs and took the phone from my mom
" hi Mrs Gall"
" Hello Ellie how are you"
" okay I guess"
" Good I was just phoning to ask if you would mind popping round to the school I've found you a tutoring course and I just thought you might want to take a look at what it includes I would wait till tomorrow but I'm guessing tomorrow may be a bit testing for you"
" yeah okay I'll be at the school in 15 mins"
" ok brilliant see you then"
I hung up the phone grabbed my coat and keys and made my way out the door followed by my mom
" where are you going"
" school, Mrs Gall has a tutoring course that she thought I might be interested in"
" why can't she go over it with you tomorrow"
" because mom ok, I'll be back for dinner"
I drove off and turned on the radio listening to AC/DC whilst making my way to the school, when I arrived I saw Mrs Gall waiting at the entrance for me, we made or way inside and up to the classroom where she showed me some of the books I would be using as reference and some of the topics I'd be tutoring
" did you call him btw"
" I did yeah"
" how's he doing"

" he'll be okay he's a fighter that one"
" yeah I hope so, he's invited me round once he's out of hospital"

I had just finished getting the books in the back of my car when my mobile went

" look if your phoning to sell windows or tell me I've been in an accident now really isn't a great time"
" no no not all all dear haha I'm Alan's mother"

" don't worry about it dear it's not a problem listen I just wanted to thank you for helping Alan out today if I wasn't for you it could have been a lot worse"

There was an uproar in the background

I hung up the phone and hopped in my car at this point nothing could make my day worse nothing at all I just wanted to go home and sleep not to have a care in the world
