Miles' POV:
I looked over the deciphered notes again and again, trying to find a connection. The chatter of the cafe enveloped me as I tried to figure out the codes.
"Do you think maybe there's another code inside the code?" I asked Jamie, who looked back up at me skeptically.
"Miles, this is supposed to be a study date."
She was looking extra nice today. Her braided hair was in a high pony, and she had worn a little make up today - not that she needed any, she was gorgeous either way. Her pink crop top and jeans complimented her brown eyes. God, I needed to get this girl.

"I'd take any date if it was with you." I winked, and she snorted.
"Yeah, right. Can we just concentrate on cramming for the physics test?"
"Chill. You automatically get full marks for the finals so one failed test won't do any harm. And i already know I'm gonna ace that test, so there's no problem here."
"Wow. So humble."
"I know. Now come help me out with this thing."

Jamie took a deep breath and shook her head while I grinned at her.
"I mean, as far as i know, the past two months you haven't killed anyone. At least not on my watch." She took a sip of her hot chocolate while i racked my brain.
Firstly, why would anyone want to kill moi? But more importantly, who the heck has hot chocolate in the middle of the day?
I asked Jamie the second question, and she wrinkled her nose at me.
"Miles, you're supposed to know by now that i do a lot of questionable things."
Okay that's true.

"Anyway, if you can't tell your dad about this, maybe tell Spider-Man?" She suggested, and I replied,
"And where the heck am i supposed to find him to talk to him exactly?"
She shrugged, then teasingly said,
"I mean, i could always put in a good for you. Since i know him and all."
"Oh shut up! We both know you only met him once!"
"How do you know we haven't met up a couple times after that?"
"Because I'm not stupid, Jamie!"

We were both bent over in laughter, and we really didn't care when people around us started looking weirdly. That was our life's purpose - to annoy people until they can't stand us.

As I got my breath back, I was about to suggest something different, when a deafening boom shook the the cafe, glasses shattering and plates trembling. Jamie stood up instantly, shouting over the growing screams,
"Shit! Come on, Miles, we gotta go!" She tugged my wrist as we left the cafe, the ground still shaking beneath us. As we ran in the direction of the academy, i started thinking of excuses to get away from her.
As soon as we got into the dorm hallway, I pulled my wrist out of Jamie's grip and told her i had to go to the bathroom.
"Very surprised you didn't already poop your pants. Fine, i'll keep you updated."
I ran in the way of the hall bathrooms, and as soon as I was inside a stall I took out a button in my pocket, pressed it, and my suit grew in front of me. Thanks Aunt May, you're the best.

Fitting my suit, quickly, I jumped out the window at the end of the bathroom and swung into action. Emerging out of a crappy high school bathroom - not one of my better moments.
Most of the screams were coming from the Statue of Liberty, and a very familiar roar sounded from that area is well. No way...no way...
