~3rd Person P.O.V.~
A box like elevator was slowly moving up. Inside, laid two people. A boy and a girl. Both laid unconscious. Suddenly, the boy woke up, gasping for air. He coughed out water as he sat on all fours, sweat on his face.
He stumbled to get to his feet as he tried to remember something. But he couldn't. He couldn't remember anything. His family, his friends, his name.
They were all gone.
As he continued stumbling, his gaze stopped on an unconscious figure a couple feet away from him.
The girl.
"Hello?"
He stumbled towards her, trying not to fall on top of the girl as the box cage started moving at a faster pace, still going up.
"Hey! Wake up!"
He continues shaking her, but she doesn't seem to wake up. He gives up, standing back to his feet, looking around the small cage they were in.
While he was doing that, the girls conscious was slowly coming back. She gasp, sitting straight up as she coughed out water, sweat laying on her forehead. Her coughing caught the boys attention.
"Hey!"
She jumped, snapping her head to the sound. To her, the voice sounded familiar. But she doesn't know why or how. She couldn't remember anything. Her name was gone. Her family and friends were gone.
Nothing laid in the two minds.
The boy stumbled towards her, falling onto his knees right in front of her, gently gripping her forearm as they looked at each other in the eyes. Even in the darkness of the box, they still seemed to recognize each other, but didn't know why.
"Who are you?" She finally spoke in a soft, quiet voice.
He shook his head slightly, "I-I don't know. I can't remember."
He suspected that she couldn't remember anything either.
As the box continued to move upwards, the boy pulled the girl to his chest as they sat in the corner. She leaned into him more, gripping part of his shirt. Just then, the box came to a stop, a red light before darkness overcame them.
He held her more tighter against him as their heavy breathing was the only thing heard. Suddenly, a light finally came through, making the two hold up their arms, not used to the light with their eyes.
Above them, stood many... many boys, who were all gazing at the girl with wide eyes and furrowed brows. They haven't seen a girl in a long time. Or even remember when the last time they saw a girl.
Some boys opened the cage doors as one boy jumped down, his face in front of the two. He kept glancing at the girl, shock still somewhat evident on his features. He looked back at the boy with a blank expression.
"Day one, Greenie. Rise and shine." He said before harshly grabbing the boy by his collar, making his arms leave the girl, which he didn't like, and tossed him out of the box.
He looked back at the girl, grabbing her arm, more gently then he did with the other Greenie and pushed her out of the box. She landed beside the boy she came up with as the other boys crowded them, saying things about the boy and the girl.
"He looks like a slopper to me."
"She's hot!"
"I could use some help in the kitchen."
"I call dibs."
The boy couldn't help but glare in the direction it came from, knowing they were talking about the girl beside him. For some reason, he felt like he had to protect her. Like he would do anything for her, to keep her safe. He felt like he wanted to hold her in his arms.
