Minho, Thomas, and I all walked through the woods, Minho leading the way. I had no idea where we were going, and I don't think Thomas did either. Minho had just told us to follow him, which we did.

"Hey, where are we going?" Thomas asks.

"You'll see." Minho replies.

Eventually, we made it to a little hut. Minho glanced back at us before walking inside, holding the door open for us. Thomas gestured for me to go first, which I gratefully did. Inside, there was some wood, and it looked like a picture of the maze was carved on them. In the middle, sat a table, a sheet covering whatever was under it. I watched as Minho removed the sheet, revealing a replica of what looked like the maze.

Minho sighs. "It's the maze. All of it."

"What do you mean "all of it"? I thought you were still mapping it." Thomas recalls.

"There's nothing left to map." Minho admits. "I've run every inch of it myself. Every cycle. Every pattern. If there was a way out, we would have found it by now."

"Why haven't you told anyone this?" I ask.

"It was Alby's call. People needed to believe we had a chance of getting out. But maybe now..." Minho starts as he looks down at the device in his hands. "we have a real chance." Minho hands the device over to me. "Take a look at this. About a year ago, we started exploring these outer sections. We found these numbers printed on the walls. Sections one through eight. See, the way it works, is every night, when the maze changes... it opens up a new section. So today, section six was open. Tomorrow, it will be four, then eight, then three. The pattern always stays the same."

I look down at the device in my hands, staring at the number. "What's so special about seven?"

"I don't know." Minho responds. "But last night, when you killed that Griever..." Minho points at me. "Section seven was open. I think it must be where it comes from. Tomorrow, you two and I are gonna take a closer look."

Just then, fast footsteps approached the hut, the three of us looking over, seeing Clint and Jeff running up to the door.

"Hey! What are you guys doing? You're not allowed in here." Minho reminds.

"Sorry, it's just the..." Jeff starts, but stops himself as he's out of breath.

"It's the girl." Clint finishes, also out of breath.

"Is she awake?" I question.

"You could say that." Jeff replies.

The three of us followed Jeff and Clint out of the woods. Eventually, we ran up to Chuck, who stood by himself, laughing silently.

"Chuck, what's going on?" Thomas questions.

"Girls are awesome." Chuck responds as he points in front of him.

My e/c eyes follow his gaze, seeing many Gladers huddled up together at the bottom of the watch tower. I look up at the top, seeing the girl's head slightly peeking over as she continues throwing things at the boys. Quickly, I run over, hearing Thomas and the others following me.

"Hey, throw one more of those things..." Gally starts, but is cut off when an apple hits his head. "Ow!"

"Go away!" The girl shouts.

"We come in peace!" Frypan exclaims.

"What happened?" Thomas asks.

"Just duck!" Someone answers.

"I don't think she likes us very much." New chuckles.

"What do you want from me?" The girl exclaims.
