Y/n's POV

I wondered if they knew what kind of person Chan was. Did they know he used to ruin the lives of girls with vast futures? Do they realize the hurt he made people feel? I wondered if they knew, but just never said anything because he was their beloved family member. These thoughts surrounded me as we sat speaking over dinner. And the way his brother stared at me made me feel like my presence must have come as a shock. Was it pity? Maybe They know I'm another lost cause.

After dinner we sat in Chan's room laying around on his bed.
"So I'm going out tomorrow with Jake."
"How long?"
"Ahh, only an hour or two. I promise it won't be long. But you have to promise me something okay?" I turn to face him.
"Okay.."
"Don't ever let anyone see your scars except me. That means if my mum invites you somewhere even to the beach or wherever, you are to not show anyone."
"Of course.."
"Good." He kisses my forehead and pulls me into a tight hug.
"Chan..?"
"Yes?"
"This place . It feels so much like.. like the one you burned."
"You think so?" He smirked.
"So similar.."
"I get what you mean.. It feels homey." He chuckled deeply sending a shiver through my spine.
"Yeah.. that word."
It did and that's what made things so much more terrifying.

Why am I so scared?

The Next Day

Chan left about an hour ago to go somewhere with his brother. Whereas I stayed with his mom who spoke cheerful about her son's younger days.
"Do you bake Y/n?"
"I haven't in quite a while."
"How about we make some cookies? We can make one where we decorate them with icing too!"
"I'd love to!"
"Great!"
She began setting things up for us to start baking. Chan's mother was so sweet and seemed to enjoy me being here. Maybe it was all a facade, but nonetheless, she made me feel a bit better.

"Have you always lived here?" I asked.
"Mostly, there was a time when Jake was just a baby and we visited the US. Did you always live there?"
"Yep. NYC and then My mother moved to Canada. But I was working in New York in an office for a while before I met Chan."
"So your not a college student?"
"Not at all. I couldn't afford it."
"I see. I'm glad you've meet my son though. He seems happy with you." I nodded my head.
"I'm glad I met him too."

By the time Chan and Jake came back, their mother and I were busy decorating the sugar cookies.
"Ooh so you guys baked?!" Chan says walking towards me with a wide smile.
"Yep." I say.
Chan's mom chuckles pointing to the already decorated cookies, "Your fiancé is a artist."
"Wow. They look really good." He says kissing my lips.
"Where's Jake?" His mom asks. I slightly freeze. Did Chan do something to him already? Is Chan that territorial just to kill someone over staring at me?
"He is just talking to one of his friends out side."
"How was your little trip?" I asked.
"Fun. It's been a while since I last hung out with my little brother. I missed it."
Suddenly a knock was heard at the door. Chan's mom looks outside through the curtains.
"Damn it. I didn't think it was coming in today.. Chan sweetie do you mind helping me with bringing this in? It's a bit too heavy for me."
"Of course." They then walk out of the house leaving me with baked goods and thoughts.

"Y/n?" I looked up from the cookies to see Jake.

He's alive.

"Hey, your mom and I made Cookies." He walks over to the counter and looks at the sugary goods.
"There's no way mum decorated these. Did you do them? Their really pretty." He says softly smiling.
"Thanks..." I say a bit shy.
"Are you really going to marry my brother?"
"Yes. That is what a fiancé is.."
"In that case, if there's anything you need. No matter if it's about my brother or not. Let me know."
"Thank you, I'll definitely let you know. Do you want to help me decorate?"
"I'm no artist." He says shaking his head.
"Nether am I." Quickly, I hand him a plain sugar cookie. He smiles widely and takes a seat to start decorating with me.
