I made a mistake that cold dark night. A mistake that I told myself to never make.. But it was my poor judgement in character. I should have saw all of this coming. But I didn't...

Now I'll live with consequences until he finally drags me down into oblivion.

I dropped out of college because of the money... So, I now work a full time office job I never knew I'd end up in. Always thought my life would mean something more then this stupid job. But what was I supposed to do? My family couldn't handle the financial strain of my dreams.

"The train will be stopping to the next station in less then a minute."

I hoped something more would happen. Maybe since I've been in this job busting my ass for two years. Maybe they'll consider a promotion? I desperately hoped they'd consider..
" The train has now arrived at the station,  thank you for riding with us."

Sighing I clutch my shoulder bag and walk out of the train into the cool morning air. It's another boring day at work. Nonetheless, I will push forward and make it worthwhile no matter what.

" Good morning, Welcome back Mrs. L/n. How was your weekend?" I walked into to the front desk smiling at the pretty brunette.
"Morning Becky, I stayed home catching up on that series you recommended."
"Oh darling I love to hear it. It's a shame no one else in this office has taste.. Good luck today, and remember theres a pitch meeting at 10." She says with a smile.
"You got it." I then walked off towards the long hall of open desks towards my small corner desk. The office wasn't anything special. If anything it was regular and was filled with the ringing of cells phones and voices. Not only that but it was drained of life. You could tell no one wanted to be there. But like me, they needed the money to live.

"Here she is! How's the sales going there Y/n." My Boss walks to me fixing his tie.
"Better then ever Charles." I replied sitting into my chair.
"Good to hear. I hope you have that pitch ready today. I'm looking forward to your ideas."
"You won't be disappointed."
"Love the attitude!" He walks off to speak with another employee. Quickly, I start turning on my computer and setting up my headset.
"Hey hey." A familiar face calls peaking at me from the next desk over.
"Morning Johnny."
"How come you didn't go out drinking with us Friday?"
"Didnt think you'd want me to go."
"What?! That's bullshit. I wanted you to go."
"It was literally all the bosses in one place. I don't know how you have the confidence to just drink with them."
"You see that's how you get in."
"Yea yeah." I began logging onto my computer with my pass.
"I'm serious. One of these days, I'll run this place. And then I'll be able to support you and me."
"You shouldn't flirt with a coworker Johnny."
"Pftt, come on. Your no fun."
"You know what, The day you get Regional Manager is the day I'll take your offer. But as far as I'm concerned that spots mine."
"Deadass?"
"Deadass."
"Alright, be prepared to date the best person of your life. I'll blow you mind." I roll my eyes.
"Take a sale or something."
I than began working on various assignments. Reports, calls, and paper work.

It's now 9:50am.

I start grabbing things to prepare for the meeting. And like that we all sat together to listen to what our manager had to say in the conference room.
"To start us of, I'd like everyone to take a moment to give our teams a big round of applause!!" The room gives a loud clap before settling down again, "They have increased the rate of sales by 4% through the start of this year! We hope to see even more raises as we accumulate more ideas through your pitches here today!"
So a select few of us showed off our pitches. Talking about how we could increase profits and such. It was boring, but the company was all for things like that to boost moral or whatever.
