~Percy POV~

It had been a few minutes since the blonde girl (yes I still don't know her name) agreed to my offer. And it's getting pretty awkward. So I decided to break the silence.

"I still don't know your name, you know." I glanced at her. She looked........... broken.

"Annabeth."

"Well Annabeth, could you at least tell me why you were sitting alone in a dark alleyway?"

"I guess. I was kicked out of my home."

I looked at her with a I'm sorry but could you elaborate look.

She sighed "My mother died 6 years ago and my father remarried 3 years ago. My step-mother was very kind to me but last to last week my father died and she became a bitch. She kicked me out about a week ago."

"I'm sorry, I didn't know, I shouldn't have asked, I'm so-"

She cut me off "It's ok, it was the least I could do, you are helping me after all."

The rest of the walk was awkward. Thankfully it was only for 5 minutes.

"We're here!!!!!!" I exclaimed while doing some jazz hands.

She rolled her eyes. "You're such a seaweed brain."

"You're such a seaweed brain." I mimicked her while rolling my eyes.

"Now open the door will ya? I need to eat."

I scratched my neck in an awkward way while blushing and opened the door.

"Just go to the room which has a 'guest room' plate on it and freshen up," I said while wearing my apron.

"I don't have any clothes except this remember?" She rolled her eyes

"Oh ya, we can go to the market after eating."

"Wait you can cook?"

"Ya, why?"

"No reason, I just thought that the prince wouldn't do household things."

"My mother taught me..... Anyway, lemme just go to the kitchen and make the food, make yourself at home."

When I reached the kitchen I took out the pancake batter and blue dye and started making Sally Jackson's world-famous blue pancakes.

All the pancakes were flipped and put in the plates and I took the plates to the living room where Annabeth was napping.

Man, she looks cute when she sleeps.

You did not hear that.

"Wake up wise girl, I've got the food."

Her eyes fluttered open "Why are those pancakes blue?"

"My mother and I had this thing going on and we tried to eat blue food whenever possible." I smiled sadly.  She looked at me and knew it was a touchy subject and said nothing.

She then smacked my arm and snatched a plate out of my hand.

"Hey!"

"What, I'm hungry."

And then we both started gorging on our pancakes.

A/N- Sry for the short chapter and awkward ending. I'm just working with RougeNinja12 on a story, I'm rly excited abt it!
